I just want to take a moment to send a shout-out to y’all who will be fully received into the Catholic Church in the Easter Vigil Mass. When I’ve spoken with RCIA candidates, or people who have been through that program, I hae often blown away by their journey. I have met some people with amazing faith, amazing stories, and the courage to take the plunge and act on that faith.

So, who are you? Can you guys please sign in here, so we all can give you proper congratulations? 👍 👍 👍

I’m not but I want to give a shout out to Justin, JD27076 who is coming into the Catholic Church this year. :extrahappy:

Thanks very much; I’m excited and happy. I believe God first put it in my heart to be a Catholic when I was 9 years old…I’ve only kept Him waiting 41 years. But, I’m running for home now!

I am a 2012er but I snuck in before Easter when nobody was looking. 😃

Hi Hannajomar!
I just had my first Scrutany today. It was so special and moving this morning. One down and two more to go! Then comes Holy Week and Easter Vigil. This journey has been the most incredible experience for me. I am so thankful for His many blessings this year. I have determined to just put my trust in the Lord moving forward in my life and letting Him lead me from now on. 🙂 My favorite word has become the word, “eternity”. Eternity not just meaning something in the future, but connecting to eternity in our daily lives in the here and now. Thanks for wanting to support us. We sure need it. I for one really appreciate it. CAF has been a great help this year. 👍

Counting down the days…

It took me about 3-4 months of serious study, almost every night, from about 530p-midnight, of being on these forums, reading the bible, reading the CCC, reading about some of the church fathers, and just getting over my prejudices about the CC. I met my girlfriend at college way before I was even thinking of becoming Catholic, and I was SO determined to get her OUT of the CC. Couple years later, I’m three weeks away from coming home.

I used to think that God put me in her life so I can get her out of “that crazy, unbiblical and idolatrous church”. Now I see…he put her in my life so that I can can come home to Christ.

Glory be to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit!!!

I will be! 🙂 I am so very excited and also a bit nervous (I’m one of only two people who will also be baptized at the Easter Vigil and I’m not crazy about the idea of being dunked in front of everyone, LOL!). This has been such an amazing journey for me. Last month, a dear RCIA friend and I went to the cathedral for the Rite of Election and that is a memory that will stick with me forever – it was so moving! I cannot wait until the Easter Vigil! 😃

Just received Reconciliation, awaiting Eucharist! I’m too excited!!

With prayers for all. I enjoyed several years of directing RCIA before age caught up with me.

Wow, what great stories! I wish I could give each and every one of you a big hug :hug3:

Welcome, welcome. I am a member of the RCIA team this year, and am enjoying the process this year almost more than my own journey last year. And Easter was so late last year! You all have it easy with a much shorter time, date-wise.

Congratulations! You and I kind of started together didn’t we?

I will be confirmed soon as well. 🙂

Yeah, I think we did start at about the same time 👍. If I remember correctly though, you were quite blessed in being able to do a one-on-one type of RCIA. I wish the same thing had been offered at my parish! It would have saved a lot of frustration!

Yes, I did and I was received into the church via the traditional rite.

I know you’ve waited for a long time to receive. It is going to be awesome!
