Who's your favorite comedian?

Victor Borge though he was a pianist and a comedian. He has since passed on but he could make me laugh till I cried. Used to watch his stuff on PBS membership drives.

howl of delight I haven’t heard that since I was twelve - I had ONE evening alone with a record player (yes, I’m that old) and a Bill Cosby album, and for years, I could recite almost the entire album.

Now, alas, this is about all I remember:

“Lord?”
“WHAT???!?!?!?”
“… what’s a cubit?” 😃

Jim Gaffigan is HYSTERICAL!!! DH and I will occastionally look at one another and say (in a sing-sing voice) “…Hot Pocket - I’m glad I ate that!” :rotfl:

My college friends and I, when there is nothing important to say, are known to blurt out “Hot Pocket! Caliente Pocket!” or launch into the entire “Catholic” segment of his Beyond the Pale material…which is funny, until you begin to think about it at inappropriate times, such as the middle of Mass.

Then you recall incorrectly.

Besides the fact that censorship was strong in that period, Benny himself said that only a lousy comedian would stoop to such tactics.

You must be thinking of somebody else. You said, “Jack Benny *has . . . *” which would indicate somebody alive. Benny has been dead for decades.

We’re talking about our favorite violin-playing miser, the one who had the #1 show on radio, then moved to television in the 50’s.
 
I love Bill Cosby - just wish he’d get some bew material. I have heard the “chocolate cake” gig countless times.

I also love Stephen Colbert on the Colbert Report. He just kills me.

I absolutely LOVE Bill Cosby’s old routines. (Come here. Come HERE! I said COME HEEEEEERE!!)

Also, much of Steve Martin’s stuff (Omelette du Fromage kills me!).

I “discovered” Red Skelton as a child. It just is not Christmas in my family without listening to The Little Christmas Tree.

Bob Newhart, Bill Engvall, George Lopez, Carol Burnett, Lucille Ball and most of the others previously listed on the thread.
 
Larry the cable guy and George Lopez. Maybe not squeaky clean, but the kids have to sleep sometime.
