One thing I found interesting in that story was how they guy wanted to seal the deal in the temple.

For anyone but a Mormon, that would set off the nonsense detector.

Can you just imagine it reframed as a Catholic example? “Oh, no need for a contract, we’ll just go to Mass together”. Right.

Doing research, I discovered I could not find my cite where the credibility of all the Book of Mormon witnesses were called into question.

I could only find:

Joseph Smith himself said, “Such characters as McLellin, John Whitmer, David Whitmer, Oliver Cowdery, and Martin Harris, are too mean to mention; and we had liked to have forgotten them” (Smith 1902, 3:232).

Times and Seasons, Vol. 3, p. 868, August 1, 1842: in Kirtland, when persecution raged, Oliver Cowdery [among others] … had been engaged in extensive frauds in the Bank, and were the principle cause of its not being able to meet its liabilities;

I cannot find what I read before, but it was an LDS site…not an anti.

So, until I can find it, I must retract what I said and limit my comments to 4 of them.

There were other things regarding the others that could cast doubt on them ie. seeing with spiritual eyes, etc. But I need to retract the portion where I said Joseph Smith cast doubt on the credibility of all the witnesses until when and if I can find my cite.
