Whould a muslim have to change their name if....

If a muslim were to convert to christianity, would he have to change his name ? Lets say his name is “very muslim”.

It would be up to him or her. Often people do, to show outwardly their inward change. Often converts to Islam change their name.
Of course some people live in Muslim countries and would be putting their lives at risk by being open about their conversion.
 
Good question.

Personally, I wouldn’t think that the name of a new convert would be as important as the fact that they converted.

It depends… the Eastern Orthodox tradition is generally quite insistent on a name of a Christian saint, yet we do have surprises: for instance, both Muhammad and Ahmed, the two most noticeable Islamic names, are indeed the names of Christian saints. There are two holy bishops from the pre-Islamic times (among the first evangelizers of the Arabian tribes) with the name of Saint Muhammad, whereas Saint Ahmed is a New Martyr of the 17th century from Constantinople. No, you don’t have to change your name. If you want, you can, and sometimes Catholics take on their patron saint’s name as a second or third name after confirmation.
