Why? To show that this horror actually happened in our own backyards and town squares. No one would ask why photographs of Nazi Concentration Camps were shown in a report about WWII.

Reality is shocking and it’s good to remember so it doesn’t happen again.

On a related note regarding CBS…
I will give CBS respect for integrity when they show the aborted bodies of babies.

The Goodwin’s law of Catholic discussion boards.

This is not a zero sum game.

I would agree with TLL here. Both are equally savage crimes, and deserve to be reported on equally

Unsettling isn’t it to see men, women, and children posing and smiling for the camera as a mangled (often) burned body hangs over them.

It’s reality. Sometimes people need to be smacked in the face with reality.

Of course they should be reported on equally.
Yes. Are they?

Integrity is when a person employs principles honestly and consistently across all areas of life. I appreciate that some feel called to address one issue more than another, but when a news organization is intentionally blind to barbaric injustices while claiming to promote justice, they are hypocrites.
And they lose the moral authority and objectivity needed to promote justice.

Shouldn’t they receive a backlash like Logan Paul

End sarcasm

Good question for another thread…but this one asked why lynchings were shown, not why other atrocities were not.
Oh ok. I’m not questioning why they showed the pictures.
I think it’s a wise idea to show documentation of atrocities, otherwise they continue, and the first thing you know, millions are dead.

Yeah, those other atrocities aren’t as important, amirite?:roll_eyes::roll_eyes:
Selective reading?..you chosen to conveniently ignore my post that did not downplay concerns, but suggested a new thread…but of course that wouldnt play into making a political issue out of every post.

Because they need ratings.
Because they kowtow to this and that agenda item.

That’s the thing…they don’t cover the 3000 murders that happen in the US every day.

It’s selective.

Lynchings and abortion have a common cause.

It is the refusal to see the victims of both as fully human. They are both human rights issues.

of course.

And we can give CBS credit for integrity and solid social justice values when they realize that.
If we are going to change the world, integrity is important. From top to bottom consistency, based on human dignity. For everyone, not just “my” group.
