Chapter 5 - #159
Lo! **As for those who sunder their religion and become schismatics, no concern at all hast thou with them.
Their case will go to Allah**, Who then will tell them what they used to do.
Famdigy (et al) muslim members:

This verse states that if any muslims split into a different “sect” you will have to deal with allah.

Who is right or wrong here and what do other sects/branches think of this verse?

Shia?

Sunny?

Or other muslim sect/branches?

It’s unfortunate that in many discussion about Islam, Ali’s name rarely comes up. He personifies all of the qualities we look up to in society and is the forgotten role model many Muslims and non-muslims ignore. So I thought I’d post a thread about what’s been written about him.
All right, I’m game. What did Ali do that was so wonderful and inspiring (other than being Mohammad’s son-in-law)?

Famdigy…

I once had a chart and it showed the heirarchy from mohamad to the caliphs and I’ve lost it.

Anyway, does it go like this?

1st caliph: Abu Baker
2nd caliph: Ali
3rd caliph: Abu Sufyan
4th caliph: Zubayr

Thanks!
1st Caliph: Abu Bakr (Chosen in secret)
2nd Caliph: Umar (chosen by Abu bakr)
3rd Caliph: Uthman (chosen by a panel of 6 people set-up by Umar)
4th Caliph: Ali (democratically elected)

agreed the verse says do not seperate your religion, Shias hold they have always followed the true and that it was the sunni leaders who went astray and led the masses with them.

Sunnis believe shias broke away from the majority and rejected the first 3 caliphs, therefore they label us as “the rejecters” (Al-rafida)

I was born Sunni myself, until I went through a journey of religious discovery and revival
