I agree with you in part. We should worry about our journey not guessing about others.
However when someone has something great they tend to want to share it.

Hi teancum,
The " something great " as seen by some, is something much less than great seen by others.
Thus, in my opinion, the divisions continue.

My answer would be, “How would I know?”
I know you on here. If I saw you in real life, I would not know it was you. Please be patient with people.
Now, once you know, that is another story.
I was on the elevator in a local mall. There was a young woman on it with a cute little girl in a stroller. An old lady, probablly in her 60s, commented on how adorable she was. Naturally, the mother, who was quite attractive in her own right, smiled and thanked her. The old woman then told he to be sure to raise the child as a good “God-fearing Christian.” The mother responded, “I don’t think so, we’re Jewish.” The old woman went white as a sheet and about fell out of the elevator at the next floor. I looked at the mother and told he that I was sorry if she was offended, to which she replied, “Oh, I’m not offended and I am not Jewish. I just get sick of these people thinking they know what I need to hear.”
I have no issue discussing faith with anyone. I have an issue jumping to conclusions that any particular person needs it more than others. And I agree about worring about who is where and why.

We must concern ourselves with the salvation of the world because God wills it. That should be enough reason.

its not good to try to force people to listen, but I see no harm in an honest invite.
Kind of like the water who comes by every 5 min to see if you want more water. At times it can be a tad annoying, but they are trying to be helpful and mean no harm.

When someone asks a question like that, I typically assume they mean to ask about a hypothetical situation, and not the actual man himself. I assume they are trying to spark discussion about the surrounding issues or about similar situations to see what people have to say. My assumptions could be silly, but usually that seems to be what people mean when they ask about Hitler or the like. He is representative of something, and they are using that to communicate their question or ideas.
Also, some people seem to think or reason partly by checking their ideas against the extreme case, in order to see if their reasoning has holes in it. It is common in mathematics to do this. There are special examples that are used to check your reasoning to make sure you haven’t gone off the deep end.

It is our “I” ego and how we view ourselves.
We all are a part of judging others(I ego) and no one wants to believe they strive to be better only to find out someone who they deem hell bound should be saved.
