Why are Catholics against Communism?

Socialism/Communism creates laziness by removing the motivation to create excellence. There will only be a one-time redistribution of our massive income because the high achievers will have no more motivation for high achievement, thus reducing the overall productivity. There will be no more CONTINUOUS high motivation and high cash flow as there is right now. This is what the dreamers on OWS fail to see. Socialism/Communism is a great plan if you hate the US. How about we lift the poor and the downtrodden by removing the distractions in their way? THIS will RAISE the overall average.

Yes, but the shallow feelgood media is dragging people away from the deep emotional and spiritual experience that leads to marriage and kids. Hedonism + good intentions is easier than sacrificing for spiritual rewards.

We are human beings, we are not ants or robots or anything else.

As human beings, we suffer from original sin or concupiscence, and the world itself suffers from the Fall.

We in the current culture are not lazy, greedy, selfish, or whatever because the society is messed up, our society ismeesed up because we, the people who make it up, are lazy, greedy, selfish, etc.

Humans are unique because they are a mix of the spiritual and the material. There is no getting around the fact that very few of us can operate solely on the spiritual plane, and they can do that only because they have received special graces from God.

The rest of us need human things. We need to strive, we need positive feedback, we need to eat… The whole point of the condemnation of socialism and communism is that they seek to deprive people of what need as humans. They deny human nature.

No amount of talk about altruism or spiritual developmeent can rehabilitate those systems, they are simply contrary to reality.

I agree. That’s why I’m amazed that more people are not opposed to those who profit from selling dirty culture. Instead, they want to redistribute income so that people can buy more dirty culture. They want the exact opposite of what is needed, yet they can’t see it.
