Why are Catholics Pagans?

1.To cause turmoil and discord amongst fellow Catholics

2.Mabey deep down inside you are reeling because you are not catholic or curious about the fath

The faithful Christian who follows the Lord, can be sure of salvation and glory for eternity.Your gods, on the other hand, only offer insecurity and final doom. It seems better to stand on the right side.**

As for replacing a Pagan festival with a Christian holiday-remember, replacing something old with something new crushes their spirit. I remember playing a game, and part of the objective (I think I was Hitler in WWII…cough) was to destroy whatever the head building in England was, and replace it with a new Nazi HQ. It was a rather symbolic act meant to crush the spirit of the British. In the same way, Paganism is assimilated into Christianity, as we replace their old traditions and festivals with our own.

Errr, but its not as mean as the Nazi WWII analogy…

Ok seriously, what is with the pagan holidays? Is this a case of “when in Rome…” ? The two holidays I am specifically refering to are easter and christmas. Christmas happens right after the pagan celebration of the winter solstice. The holiday was happening anyway so let’s make it christian? Why not stick with hannukah (sorry i butchered the spelling) like Jesus himself would have practiced? And that brings me to easter. Christian equivelant of the passover holiday correct? (speaking from a time of year perspective) Then why have easter resemble the spring equinox festivals of the pagans. The pagans used such symbols as eggs and rabbits for their fertility rituals regaurding the spring equinox…those symbols sound familiar…Is this another case of early christians adapting to their pagan surroundings or do you guys just like to confuse children with stories of ressurections and large rabbits hiding painted eggs?

Ishtar would have had to get past the French first, and we know what the French do to frogs…

Probably some sort of pagan thing; maybe eating frogs’ legs to give you the ability to jump really far, because Ishtar had the legs of a frog. I read it somewhere in some book or saw it online somewhere, so I know it’s true.

And what do we French do with the frog??? Other than looking like them…

All religions, Jewish or Christian, is based on pagan rituals. God transcended and transformed such rituals…He has a right to do so. And He be the Big Boss. Humanity has not evolved so much as what we think in the last 2,000 years…science doesn’t count. We still kill like the pagans used to, we still have sexual excess like the pagans indulged in, and we still sacrifice children like the pagans used to!

Ok seriously, what is with the pagan holidays?

Don’t you know that every day of the year used to belong to some pagan god? Sunday, for example used to be the day that belonged to the god of the sun; Now, as with all the days, it belongs to the Son of God. What church do you go to that leaves you so misinformed? You need to do a little independent homework my friend.

I pray the the Holy Spirit will dispel your ignorance and lead you to the Pillar and Foundation of Truth which is the Catholic Church.
