Why are demons ugly?

Hello everyone,
If demons were originally angels,at one time they must have been beautiful beings.If that is the case,when did they become the horrible nightmarish creatures who populate Hell ?.
Why must they look so ugly and disgusting?

  1. Since they are pure spirit, they have no visible body. The only part they have is the spirit and, having rejected God, artists therefore draw them as ugly so you can distinguish which is the demon and which is the angle.
  2. When you are being tempted by a demon, they appear beautiful, for they are full of decite. That is why we always have to discern when we have had a vision… is it from heaven or hell? You cannot tell by it’s appearance.
  3. Like Jessica Rabbit said “I’m not bad, I’m just drawn that way”

In reality, I don’t think they’re ugly or discusting, that’s imagination and myth.

19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

ISAIAH 14
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer [Satan], son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven [pride], I will exalt my throne above the stars of God [pride]: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north [pride]:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds [pride]; I will be like the most High [pride].
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

I know these verses are supposed to be of satan, but that’s difficult for me to accept. The just seem to be talking about an earthly king, especially EZEKIEL 28.

Hey!! I am one of those people. As a politician I didn’t like her, but yes I think she’s beautiful, a lady, oh yeah, and a huntress! hehe. She looks good holding a gun 😃

Well I have heard many times (no verses I know of) that Satan was the most beautiful angel so by the one posters logic I guess he must have been the most devoted. Another thing is in Angel Lore (yes their is such a thing) Some believe that since they are pure spirit and have no body’s they have a hard time entering our plane of existence an example is in Rev. or the angel with eyes all over it. No wonder they normally say Be not afraid. Not Stating this as Bible fact just my 2 Cents from what I have read and heard.

What is beautiful in a spirit is God’s love and goodness.
With God’s love in them the angels were beautiful.
Our souls have beauty unless we ultimately reject God.
So with the angels who rejected God.

It is as if with God’s love we glow with light of His life and love in us.
If when we die, we have ultimately rejected God, the light goes from us and we are empty of God’s love, that means we are utterly without beauty.
The angels who ultimately rejected God, in essence rejected the beauty of God’s life and love in them so that His light left them. Without God’s light of love and goodness they are without beauty.

By a choice to reject God, which is only final at death, it’s as if we have cut ourselves completely from all light and "switched off’’ all light within.

It is we ourselves who make the choice to accept our destiny as children of light or to turn ourselves into creatures of darkness. It was likewise with the Angels who in their time of trial…which occurred now long ago. Our time of trial is still current.

Well, for starters, sin is ugly. I think if our souls had any physical attributes, the soul of a saint would be beautiful and the soul of a sinner, ugly. However, since the soul is not at all physical, and neither are the angels, the ugliness is just a depiction or an artist’s idea of what they might look like, had they been physical. So demons are DEPICTED as ugly, but do not possess physical bodies.
