Throughout history there has always been conflict between countries. There has always been an us and them mentality.

Why are human beings not united as one race of intelligent beings and what would it take to get us there.

What will it take to get rid of the faction mentality

Read the book of Genesis.

Start there and just keep reading.

Answer to question 1: The Fall

Answer to questions 2 and 3: The Second Coming.

It concerns me about the New World Order of one government. It would be too easy for one leader to be a dictator and have way too much power.

The Second coming of Christ would be soon enough for me.

In short, because some folks are selfish for a myriad of reasons, and in order for civilization to exist, boundaries must be set.

If there ever is a one world nation, it will never be in the likeness of unity or the dreams of the First World left.

It is far more likely to be a complete totalitarian regime and more like Russia, China or sharia law.

Really, when’s the last time a person with a one-world viewpoint tried to make his/her case to Bashir Al-Assad, Kim Jong Un or Robert Mugabe?

Human Nature is what is in the way,
Jesus took on our human nature so
that by dying on the Cross at Calvary
He took it away, nailed it to the Cross,
and showed us the Way to Unity…
WITH GOD, His heavenly Father,
The Gospel and His Church, which is
also referred to as The Bride. When
will this take place, this Unity?? No
one except God, the Father, in the
“fullness of time” Eph. 1:10

Also, be warned that a false “unity”
will soon take place, after “the called”
has been taken away, 2 Thess. 2:7
w/ a false sense of
peace in the one-world government
ruled by none other than the Anti-
Christ or the Beast w/ the false prophet
and the devil, the malevolent trinity,
it will rule 7 years, called the Great
Tribulation, but Christ will come with
the Saints(His servants) and win
the final Battle, called Armageddon.
Revelation 16:16 and I am not sure
that death will be abolished then b/c
it talks about another final conflict
after satan was released after Christ
and His Saints reigned for 1000 yrs.
and the devil gathered all the kingdoms
of the world, Gog and Magog to fight
against Jerusalem and then he WILL
be defeated along w/ the Beast and
false prophet. Rev. 20:20 and be
thrown into the “Lake of burning sulfur”
or hell and be tormented night and day
forever and ever.

Human beings are very self-centered creatures and we very frequently do not obey the Golden Rule. This creates conflicts & suffering, and when we do have charity, this charity is often limited, as is the historical case where it was common that goodwill was extended to fellow tribesman, yet often went no further.

Unity is an inherently good goal to desire, but because of human vice, institutions such as the US and EU become imperfect (though not entirely depraved) standards, because they don’t always realize that true unity is only possible through God, and they seek it exclusively through secular means and in providing material security & sustenance. The Catholic idea of unity goes much deeper than that.

Humility - with God’s help - will make it possible for these historical divisions to be mended. If there isn’t humility, it’s impossible.

Jesus came to bring division, not peace. He said so himself.

So at a minimum we’ll always have 2 Kingdoms on earth, His, and “not His.”

Humans are a tribal creature , thats why humans will never unite as one,

The us and them faction mentality will remain until we can first correct the “me” mentality.

Matthew 7:1-5
Judging Others
7 “Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. 3 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.

Until humans as individuals accept their own faults and put others needs ahead of their wants I see nothing changing. I see no improvement in the us and them until we first change the you or me mentality to you and me.

That division is only our mistaken choosing. He came “the we may be One”.

John 17:21 That they all may be one, as thou, Father, in me, and I in thee; that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

That’s it in a nutshell. When I did my MA in Soviet Studies, we had a course on the ethnic groups of the Soviet Union, and during that course it was mentioned that we have a tendency to draw two lines around ourselves. One line defines everyone within as “us”, while the other line defines everyone outside as “not-us”. If a bigger and more dangerous “not-us” comes along, that can make a lot of the “us” circles combine, as, for example, with the Soviet Union against the Germans during WWII (the Great Patriotic War).

Different cultures, different languages, different religions.
God had good reason to confuse the languages among mankind, although it is interesting to think about what was happening at the time that resulted in him doing it.

I sometimes wonder what God would have thought or did if the people at the time, tried to learn the other languages or some other attempt to get back to the way it was before.

The goal, achieved only in Heaven, is to be one.

The reality of pre-Heaven is that there will always be “His” Kingdom, and “not His” Kingdom. That’s how time ends, not with us being one on Earth, but being one in Heaven.

The “not-us” category is actually LOTS AND LOTS of small circles … MANY.

At one time all of North Africa was made up of many circles that were also Christian … but between AD 635 and AD 711, it all went away.

Of course that is true, but it doesn’t matter to those in the one small circle that is making the “not-us” definition. All they care about is that those outside are not-us.

Until, of course we get into the varying degrees of not-us-ness.
