Why are muslims so violent?

No, sorry, after escaping from a 3 year relationship with a Muslim man I will not apologise to anyone for my statement whether it is Christmas or not. Perhaps you should meet some “true Muslims” and see what they are really like instead of blindly believing they are “peaceful” people! Why do you think Islamists are now on this board? To discuss or to convert you? Hmmm it is the latter. Please realise this.

I came across this a few days ago worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=33898 - it is in full swing!
I’m not overly concerend with being converted to Islam. I’m more concerned that I may become a person who feels comfortable calling another person an animal because of their faith.

I am not comparing them to animals. If I wanted to compare them names I would use their ultimate insult (pigs) but I don’t go that far. Even that word is better than what they call non-believers.

You should read this post and other posts on this site and learn a bit about Islam faithfreedom.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=52374

I know a bit about islam, thank you. And I was referring to a post in which you stated that muslims were like venomous snakes. I mistook that as an attempt to compare muslims to animals because of the simile. I apologize.

Muslims are like poisonous snakes - they react with violence when threatened.

Whoa! That is completely unfair and unloving! Christians should not be speaking this way. Please be specific about docrinal issues.

Muslims are leaving Islam in droves for Christianity and that it why they feel threatened at the moment and probably also the reason Islamists are now on this board - desperately trying to convert people. They all have the same arguments whatever board they are on. Perhaps they all bought the same study notes. 😃

I have been following the post of Sister Amy and in all sincerity and honesty I find her very honest in her responses. I have asked her before “How would she believe Quran compared to the Holy Bible?” She responded by saying, “It is because of the beauty there is in the Quran?”

The most important aspect of the Qur’an is its’ recitation in Arabic. The best comparasion I can think of is a Greek Orthodox Liturgy in Greek.

At that point I re-read the Quran and it just doesn’t tell me any beautiful thing in it. I find it to be short and the borrowed stories from the Holy Bible are rampant and fragmented. And when I see verses about the “unbelievers” it struck me and no matter how you interpret them, it just does not fit to be the words of God as claimed by Muhammed.

You will see and read of course about God and His compassion, kindness, and mercifulness, but how can this surpassed the loving nature of God in the Holy Bible?" This is why I asked myself, “how Sister Amy, with her wit and intelligence, would say Quran is better than the Holy Bibe?”

Please, please, please…do not be unjust to people. Not all Muslims are this way. Likewise, not all Christians are Saints. I feel for you, as regards your relationship. Healing starts with us. Are you Catholic? If so, understand that your suffering can be offered up with the suffering of Christ and the Saints. The ultimate goal should be to reach Muslims with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This cannot be done with name-calling, instead of love. What did Jesus do when he was unjustly punished…“He opened not His mouth”.

With all due respect - have you read the Quran? If they are Muslim, read the Quran then they believe it or should leave that evil cult. Fortunately millions are leaving and coming to Christ - mohammed is nothing but a paedophile and a murderer and there is nothing holy about that. As I said above I am not name calling. Anyone who marries a 6 year old when he is 54 and get turned on by someone else’s baby (yes baby) is not a man of God. Ever. I seriously hope that many more realise this sooner rather and later and leave too.

Hi. Welcome to the forum.

You have some good argument in your posts. However you need to fine tune your presentation a bit as any candid and undiplomatic utterance does not go down well with most posters here. Try not to use prohibited words and phrases. Look up the forum’s rules and try to comply and you will be okay. 🙂

Happy posting and God bless.

OK. Here is a prime example of what I am talking about. First, I do not consider myself a Muslim, and I have no desire to justify Islam. In fact, I am considering Catholicism, seriously.

Have debated with Muslims before? I suspect that you have not. If you had would understand what I mean by nuance. A Muslim would respond to you by saying that there are varying reports about the age of Aisha at the time of her betrothal. The is agree amongst Sunni scholars that her age a consummation was, at least, 9 years. However, some scholars say that she was 18 at consummation. A 54 year old man marrying an 18 year old girl, while abnormal, would not be illegal even today. How would you answer that response?
I guess my over-arching issue with this style of polemic is that a Christian gets caught up a “tit for tat” discussion over cultural minutia.

I have debated with Muslims many times. I was in a relationship with one for 3 years. Nothing could ever persuade me that the Quran is the word of God. I have read the Quran and it felt like I was being strangled. A friend of mine prayed before she read it asking if it was the word of God and she was violently sick.

On other boards most Muslims admit that Aisha was in fact 6 when he married her. The marriage was consumated when she was 9. The ones who say she was 18 are trying to cover up the truth with propaganda. Muslim children are still being married off young. There was a story this week about an 8 year old married off to an old man in Saudi Arabia.

Funny there was a thread earlier on wondering whether Islam is more conservative morally than Christianity. While some feel that Islam may be more conservative there is this aspect of Islam that’s quite liberal and that is pedophillia. Mohammad practicing it no doubt gave the stamp of approval to this practice.

From my perspective, at least Islam is CRYSTAL CLEAR that homosexuality attraction and acts are sinful. 👍

So is Christianity. It is the government that clouds in the issue due to political correctness. They also seem to like bashing Jesus these days.

Please lets refrain from tangents like Homosexuality and Mohammud’s betrothal to a young girl. The question remains Why are Muslims so violent? Lets focus on that.

Many of the cultures dominated by Islam are violent or somewhat “primative” in nature. They have no stable form of government and typically are not far removed from a tribal system.

That could be a non-Islam related issue to be looked at.

The United Nations (UN) is an international organization whose stated aims are to facilitate cooperation in international law, international security, economic development, social progress, human rights and achieving world peace. The UN was founded in 1945 after World War II to replace the League of Nations, to stop wars between countries and to provide a platform for dialogue.

The term “United Nations” was first used by Winston Churchill and Franklin D. Roosevelt,[2] in the 1942 Declaration by United Nations, which united the Allied countries of WWII under the Atlantic Charter, and soon became a term widely used to refer to them. Declarations signed at wartime Allied conferences in 1943 espoused the idea of the UN, and in 1944, representatives of the major Allied powers met to elaborate on the plans at the Dumbarton Oaks Conference.[3] Those and later talks outlined the organization’s proposed purposes, membership, organs, and ideals in regards to peace, security, and cooperation.

There are currently 192 member states, including nearly every recognized independent state in the world. From its headquarters on international territory in New York City, the UN and its specialized agencies decide on substantive and administrative issues in regular meetings held throughout the year.

** The UN was formed to head off disaster. Blaming the organization (the UN) and or the people who formed it and or the country it is located in, is not the problem. It will be up to the human race to settle differences peacefully. It will be our hand, our will, which given by God to be used or abused. We must all accept responsibility and not leave it up to God…**👍

The probem with the UN is that it is dominated by anti Semitic leftists and it grants legitimacy to tyrannical regimes.

The UN should be dissolved and replaced with an organization that excludes non democratic nations.

I once stood in front of a classroom full of police officers to explain why Muslims consider jihad to be a noble concept in Islam. They got it.

Catholics get it too, and have the same thing. They just demonize it when they see it in others.

Consider “Just War Theory.”
Did you mention the physical jihad against the “kaffirs”, and that non-Muslims are considered “kaffirs”? Or did you omit that in keeping with deceiving the unbelievers?

If the unbelievers don’t want to accept Islam, isn’t it the obligation of Muslims to fight them?

“The ruling on physical jihad against the kaafirs is that this is an obligation on the community as a whole (fard kafaayah).”

See .

No matter where in the world you look, wherever muslims are gathered in great numbers (Middle East, eastern Europe, India, Indoneisia, Burma, Phillipines, southern Russia, western China) they are constantly engaged in violent conflicts with their neighbors. Why do members of this religion so often engage in violence with their neighbors? Will they ever change or will they will Islam always be intrinsically violent?
The fact of the matter is…they aren’t. Fringe groups are violent. Mostly, they have no education except what they learn from their imams. Those who have an education and are violent are no different than those who participated in the Bolshevik revolution in Russia or the ‘re-culturing’ of China in the 1960s. They attach themselves to an ideology that fulfills their own empty rage inside of themselves. Remember - there are over a billion muslims throughout the world. Only a handful engage in violence. The vast majority are normal everyday people like you and me with jobs and families to take care of, who pray, who attend mosque, who try to live up to the spiritual precepts of their religion as best they can.

The thing that so many seem to forget or ignore is that unlike with other fringe groups in a major religion, the fringe groups in Islam have hundreds of millions of dollars to get their message across with words and with bullets. And that has a powerful effect on mainstream Islam in many parts of the world.
