Yep, we should’ve killed them all during the crusades…
now now, let’s not stoop down to their level…we’re Christians and despise violence, right? Honestly, let’S not get nasty, please???
Fact of the matter is that “Papa Bene” held his speech in a democratic country where freedom of speech (gasp, oh no, shock!) exists. There was no slandering involved, he quoted a dead guy, for crying out loud! He didn’t call Mohammed any names, just quoted the emperor as stating Mohammed’s actions as bad. Whatever, no use trying to explain it to people who don#t want to listen, and you guys all know and understand. I-for my part- am deeply offended every time yet another “sheik”, Iman, “muslim cleric”, whatever or whoever it is, calls us “imbeciles” or “unbelievers”. HELLO??? Irritates the living daylights out of me, but that’s just me…How about we start burning mosques for that? No mosque would be left standing. But no, we’re Christians, we have reason, violence is not the answer. Let’s love everybody…sometimes the love should be a little tougher, though. like, when we should stand up and tell that crowd that “hey, you’re offending me and my faith here, shut up”.
I have to sit here every year and listen to my Muslim neighbors tearing up the house during Ramadan, but I’m not allowed to complain about the noise at 3a.m., when I have to go to work at 5! I might offend them, after all. Heaven forbid that happens, maybe my kids’ throats will be sliced when I come home?
The Pope quoted something, he made it clear it was a quote, only mistake he made was that he held the speech in front of educated people and he allowed the media to broadcast it to the ignorant, stupid masses who don#t have a clue and are just looking for a reason to threaten innocent people or kill them. I’m sure there are a lot of peaceful Muslims out there, too bad you never see or hear them condemning the actions of the radicals…I live in Germany, we have a huge Muslim population, and most of the time, all I hear is “Europeans need to help us get interated, they need to accept our religion and accomodate us more…” . Then, please, that’s all I’m asking, allow us the same, accept our religions, our values, our democracies! Otherwise, go back to your country and try to speak up! I hate to quote an Evita song here, but here goes, “go spread your hate in some tottering state, but not here, dear, is that clear, dear?”
Whew, i rambled, but this situation is irritating the living daylights out of me…going to confession for being so mean and angry this weekend, I hope by then some actual repentance has set in…
