I find it very humerous that so few people are seeing this movie, that the theatres now have an ad in the paper saying you can get your money back if you don’t like it. Many in the media have blamed this all on Russell Crowe and his behavior, but I think it has more to do with Ron Howard making The Da Vinci Code into a movie. I will not see any more Ron Howard movies due to the da vinici code. Do you think this has to do with the cinderella man flop?

I don’t think it has to do with any of the reasons listed. The movie just was not that great. I was bored all the way through it. Also, it wasn’t promoted all that well, I think the producer should take some blame for that. I think few people even know about Ron Howard making the Da Vinci Code. Even if they did, I don’t think it would sway anyone’s opinion…including mine.

I lost respect with Mr. Howard after seeing Apollo 13. It’s a good movie, but as a film based on an historic even they left out a very curicial element; there is no reference to God in the film or the amount of praying that went on in space and on earth during the crisis. The *Apollo 13 *film’s complete lack of giving any mention of God’s part in bringing the crew back alive demonstrates Howard’s position. I was not in the least bit surprised when I heard the irreligious Howard would be directing The D’uh Vinci Code.

For more in the miracle of Apollo 13 see:

Between Cinderella Man (da vinci code) and War of the Worlds (scientology) I am more apt to see Cinderella Man. I probably won’t, but hope that people are not seeing the films based on Howard and the da vinci code and Cruise and scientology.

I had no idea he was making the Da Vinci Code… but I was just not impressed with the advertisements. It didn’t seem to be worth my time or money!

Well, I enjoy Crowe’s acting performances in general, but all I could think when I saw the CM previews was, "Another boxing film???" Yawn*.*

I saw Cinderella man and I thought it was a great movie, it was even better because it was true.

It’s a great true story. I’m a lifelong boxing fan and love history and movies.I saw a docu-drama on ESPN that was excellent. I also respect Russell Crowe as an actor.
I was really excited about this movie until I saw Ron Howard was the director. So chalk up one for the Anti- Da Vinci code crowd. I will not see this movie or any other of his movies.

No one has yet to bring up the fact that people are just not going to movies in theater (a 17 or 18 weeks slump). Part of the reason people are not going is cost. It is $10 a ticket here, much more in major cities. When you add it all up with some snacks it comes to close to $50 for a family to go see a film compared to $4 to rent a DVD. I for one am willing to wait (unless its a film that needs to be seen on a large screen) to see a film at home on our large screen TV with surround sound - its better many times then the sound in a theater, where I can have whatever snack I want, watch in my pjs if I want, and not have to put up with obnoxious people that are sometimes at the theater.

That is SO true! Movie tickets are $9 in my area. I won’t go to the movies sometimes because the thread of sitting infront of or behind obnoxious people. Plus if you have to get up to pee you can just pause it in the comfort of your own home!

From what I understand, it’s the 19th. week in a row that the boxoffice take has been down. I wonder why?

I do not turst ANYTHING Hollywierd puts out. Many people rely on DVD rentals and sales because of the power to BUY what they want.

I do not believe the film/entertainment world will ever understand that they they dish out to us, we are not buying. It’s the minority trying to FORCE the majority to accept the agendas and way of life that is NOT acceptable to us.

What is Cinderalla Man even about? It didn’t look that wonderful from the previews. Who knows, maybe I’ll see it…when it comes out on DVD.

I don’t like Russel Crowe and I don’t like boxing, and I hate movies about boxing more than I hate boxing.

If people want to whack each other into brain damage, they are going to have to do it without me. I loathe boxing…It’s like the only part of the Roman gladiatorial games that is still legal.

Not quite. There’s hockey which has degenerated from a legitimate sport into a gladitorial slug fest.

Baseball is getting closer.

At least boxing doesn’t pretend to be something that it’s not.

Boxing movies usually don’t do that well. Remember Ali or Hurricane? Both boxing movies based on a true story. Of course there is the *Rocky *series, but those are based on a fictional character.

Man, I want to see War of the Worlds soooo bad; it was one of my favorite books growing up. But after Cruise shoving that scientology cr*p down everyone’s throat, I’m hesitant to watch any of his stuff anymore; kinda a turn off.

I don’t know but I’m not going to go see this one. the previews didn’t look good so nah.
