Why are the prayers of Mary and the saints necessary?

Mary and the saints were finate/ God is all knowing, seeing, present, etc. We are told to come to the Father through Jesus. Why would you pray to Mary and the saints when they are not all knowing, seeing, present, etc like God. They cannot tune into earth or hear thousands of people at the same time and why would they when we can go directly to Jesus. We are told there is no other way to approach the Father. In heaven there is no sorrow and would it not be sorrowful to know the trouble taking place on earth. All are to be worshiping God. This makes no sense to me and this is the major problem i have.

Hi,

Scripture tells us to pray for what we need. The needs of our loved ones become our needs simply by that fact that we love them. The Lord wants us to pray for one another.
It’s not a matter of our having power in competition with Jesus. It’s a matter of loving each other with His love and bringing such love before Him. This is all that the saints do.
No one goes to the Father except through Him. The Catholic Church has been teaching this for over 2000 years.

We need to be careful not to impose on heaven the physical restrictions (particularly in matters of communication) that we have on earth. In heaven the knowledge of our sorrows cannot sadden those who are in the Presence of the source of all joy.
