Why are there some homosexual clubs in some catholic universities? Why don’t they disband those clubs?
Or perhaps you take issue with:The goals of the week are to:
- Provide the Loyola community with an understanding of the discrimination underrepresented by the GLBTQ community.
- Educate the Loyola community on GLBTQ issues.
- Provide a safe and supporting environment for people of all groups to discuss and interact with each other.
I’m afraid I don’t see the problem with anything I saw posted on any of those links vis-a-vis a Catholic University. The Transgender Day of Remembrance was set aside to memorialize those who were killed due to anti-transgender hatred or prejudice.

First and foremost, homosexuals are people too. They deserve and education same as the next guy. Disbanding a club won’t change them. Why are there some homosexual clubs in some catholic universities? Why don’t they disband those clubs?
Whats a gay club have to do with there education? Thats full of holes.First and foremost, homosexuals are people too. They deserve and education same as the next guy. Disbanding a club won’t change them.

Why does the thought of a “gay club” bother you, the education aspect aside?Whats a gay club have to do with there education? Thats full of holes.

The bigger question is why do some universities call themselves Catholic when they do not uphold the teachings of the faith? Why are there some homosexual clubs in some catholic universities? Why don’t they disband those clubs?
Its like a beach in Thailand. I had no idea how deep this sickness has infested us. What a shocking mess. Loyola University is a complete disgrace. I am absolutely disgusted. Not in those gays kissing, which I really am, but in the church, deserving a lower case c.BillP: You are confused alright!Take a look at this from the folks at Georgetown University. Hey Catholic parents: Here’s your hard earned tuition dollars at work!

So tell me BillP, Is this your idea of what catholic education should look like?
Not fitting into a macho mans role is a far cry from gay boys meeting at a Catholic College and legitimizing sexual misconduct. That just doesn’t fly. To ask the University to turn from its wickedness, is a call to repentance. No one is being thrown to the wolves. I hope no one here would hate the man or woman, but rather the sinfulness of there gay lifestyle and condemn the Catholic institution that would foster it.God is open to everyone. That means if we are going to call ourselves Christians, we must open our arms to human beings (warts and all) too.
Any group of college students is going to have some men who, try as they might, do not find they fit the macho man’s man role. So our answer is what, to ban them throw them to the wolves?
There are wolves prowling for human souls in this world. People who throw other human beings to the wolves serve the wolves. Wolf feeders in sheep’s clothing, all the better for the wolves.
We live in an age of information and access. These young students have already turned towards the gay lifestyle. The responsible thing to do would be to have the courage to reach out to these people. Not fitting into a macho mans role is a far cry from gay boys meeting at a Catholic College and legitimizing sexual misconduct. Which one of those boys is headed for the seminary? How much internal corruption can the Church endure?
None, whatsoever. To not do so only increases fear of a stereotype and leads to more discrimination and intolerance. I welcome these clubs on all college campuses public and private.I’m a bit confused.
