Why are these not mentioned ever in mass

I don’t know about that. In the Confiteor we ask for the Blessed Virgin Mary and Angels and Saints to pray for us. After that we still proclaim the Kyrie. So objectively the Confetior option is more efficacious.

While “more is better” and it does not hurt to ask the intercession of the BVM and saints, pleading “Lord have Mercy, Christ have Mercy, Lord have Mercy” is as efficacious or Holy Mother Church would not make it an option in the liturgy. So I would argue that the Confetior is NOT MORE efficacious, which was my point.

The fact that it is an option doesn’t mean it is so because it is equally efficacious. The only way just saying the Kyrie is as efficacious is if the prayers to the BVM, Angels and Saints is of no consequence. Of course that can’t be so.

I guess we have a difference of opinion.

there are no conclusive facts reiterating one of us is right and the other is wrong…if I didn’t make it clear, I guess I should qualify my remarks with the only fact…which is, it is my opinion.

As, I conclude your thoughts are only your opinion.

I think it must be tough for priests to come up with sermons each week.
They are trying to touch on so many things, besides the day’s scripture readings.
And so many people are seeking so many different things to be said by the priest.
I am sure that most priests cover as much ground during the course of a month or several months worth of sermons.
I look at Mass every week like getting a booster shot for some disease. The priest’s words help to gird me up for a tough week ahead in a mean-spirited world.
