In another forum, a person asked:

“I am struggling to find answer for this question. Jesus Came to the earth for our sins … we do remember these words in our daily prayers … and we all also know that Jesus paid the ransom… then how can we be still Sinners? still calling ourselves sinners doesn’t mean Jesus was a failed mission?”

I am not sure how to answer this question.

Jesus came for the remission of the sin of the world, which is Original Sin and it’s effects. We do get remission for our personal sins from Christ, but that doesn’t mean we’re not guilty of the personal sins we commit.

If we were all born sinless and remained so throughout our lives, this would be heaven, not earth.

Jesus did save us through his sacrifice, because without him the gates of heaven would still be closed. The best we would be able to hope for after death would be the “bosom of Abraham” which existed before Jesus died and rose.
