i see, but how would u know that Jesus would get u to heaven, and not Ghandi, Muhamed or the Buddha? wot makes u think heaven exists?
Because after Jesus died on the cross, he ascended into Heaven and took His seat at the right hand of God the Father. 😃
He lived His life for God so what better role model do I have to follow? šŸ˜‰
Heaven exists because God exists. He is the Creator of Ever-lasting Life! 😃
Why would you think that Heaven doesn’t exist???

Welcome Newton šŸ‘‹
That is correct, without offending anyone, I am sorry to say that is correct. They do not or stubbornly will not follow the one true faith of Jesus Christ. They will not research their history because if they did, they would be afraid that they have been following someone in sheep’s clothing. We are the only religion that you can trace back to 2,000 years, bishop to bishop, pope to pope, all the way to St. Peter himself. Every other religion was either through an arguement or a fight. Their Bible is misinterpreted, that is a fact. (There is evidence that The King James Bible is indeed loaded with misinterpretations.) But I cannot blame them either, their pastors misguide them, it truly isn’t their fault. God Bless everyone.:blessyou:
i know what u mean, however aren’t there other religions that put forward the same arguement that ā€œur religion is corrupted whereas mine isntā€. for example muslims believe that their Koran is unaltered and label the Bible as corrupted with reasons to back it up. what makes the Bible and Christianity so different?

However the gospels and letters of the New Testament were written in the first century and describe a man who lived, and who may have risen from the dead - the only reason for rejecting the Resurrection as an historical fact is if you disbelieve in miracles.
what makes this man so special and why would u want to follow him? wot makes u rely on the New Testament as a credible source in the first place?

firstly thanks for the replies everyone!

you say that God has built a bridge for us to be forgiven of our sins, but doesnt such a bridge exist in other religions too, forexample to regret and repent to somewhat reach closer to God? Aren’t other religions about loving others aswell?
What does Islam say has to be done to get to paradise(heaven?

Aren’t there other people that have lived their lives for God? why cant u follow them instead? if heaven exists because of God, why would the earth exist then?

theres a possibility heaven may not exist because none of us has smelt or seen heaven, thats why i want to know how u arrived at such a conclusion.

Sure there are but is there documented proof (Scriptures) on any of them that they are in Heaven, seated at the right hand of God the Father?
I choose to follow The One that is now in Heaven and seated next to God. šŸ˜‰
Heaven exists because God exists. The earth exists because God exists. Everything exists because God exists. 😃
Believing in what can’t be seen takes faith. I pose a question to you though: if you think Heaven doesn’t exist, where is God? Where do good people go when they die?

Not only was I born a Catholic, baptized , (thank you ,Lord) : with Communion and confirmed. (Thank you Lord) : but I truly believe once you are an adult, you make up your own mind.
I agree Bella.

People who were given then gift of good examples of the Faith (from parents and/or loved one’s) still need to decide to continue to grow and live it, or it’s all for not!

(Sometimes I wonder if it can be more challenging at times, since we may have more to answer for?)

But answering the OP’s question, I am a Christian because it’s the only true path I know to God.

have you read the Bible? the NT specifically?
and how do u kno such a promise exists?
because the One who said it exists.
if truth always stands out, why are there many religions in the world today, do they not want to follow the truth?
God revealed His Truth…some people question God and His revelations and think they know better than God so they create their own cults…for example Muslims who say God did not preserve the Bible are liars because God does not lie.

How do i make sure the Bible is from God? you need to trace the Biblical history from A to Z to see the prints of God throughout the Bible. Prophecies about Jesus hundreds of years before He came…the odds that a single person fulfills these prophecies is not the work of humans but of God.

Hi Newton,
Code:
Jesus established only one church, not a collection of differing churches (Lutheran, Baptist, Anglican, and so on). His church teaches one set of doctrines, which must be the same as those taught by The Apostles (Jude3). This is the unity of belief to which scripture calls us. (Phil. 1:27, 2:2).
Early Christian writings prove the first Christians were thoroughly Catholic in belief and practice and looked to the successors of The Apostles as their leaders. What these first Christians believed is still believed by The Catholic Church No other church can make that claim.
Remember, keep in mind that The Church came before The New Testament, not The new Testament before The Church.
The Catholic Church teaches what The Apostles taught and what The bible teaches. We are saved by Grace alone, but not by faith alone. (which is what ā€œBible Christiansā€ teach; see (Jas 2:24).

i have read small sections of the Pentateuch, but i am curious as to why you do not base ur faith in the five books of the Old Test when you say such a revelation was God breathed.
It isn’t complete it gives a view of God as told by people from a much different time and place. When the New Testament is used as an aid for the Old Testament it makes sense. When you base your faith off the Old Testament itself, you are not receiving the fullness of God. The God of the Pentateuch is shown mostly as angry, vengeful, and I’ll admit it downright scary. To stop there would leave me with nothing but fear of God.

what makes this man so special and why would u want to follow him?
Jesus Christ is ā€œso specialā€ because, out of all the religious leaders in the world, He is the only one who loved me enough to suffer torture & die for me.
He is not just a man; He is God Himself, ā€œentering enemy territory in human formā€.(C S Lewis). He arose again on the 3rd day, as He said. He ascended into Heaven, & is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty, living ever to make intercession for me.
The mystery to me is how anybody could not follow Him!!! It honestly & truly astonishes me, it makes no sense to me at all!
Jesus Christ is the 2nd Person of the Holy Trinity, & He died for me. How can anyone not love Him & follow after Him???

Yes, I was baptized into the Catholic Christian faith as an infant, and I never really understood it until I was an adult. I actually fell away from the the church for about 5 years. What made me understand why I am a Christian and recommit myself to the Christian life was God’s Word, the Holy Bible. I had never read it before, but once I did, I understood what it meant to be a Christian. I repented first directly to God, then to my priest, and have since been involved in many activities and ministries in my parish. I have joined an adult Sunday school class (Bible study), been a volunteer at an ecumenical mission meal for the poor (held at a Methodist Church, with Methodists, Catholics, Lutherans, and Presbyterians all involved), and become an EHMC. I read the Bible daily, even when my Sunday school class takes breaks for the summer; I read it all the way through once every year and own many different translations. To me, the Christian faith is the only possible choice after reading God’s Word. He makes it plain that salvation is through His Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for my sins and rose on the third day and now sits at the right hand of the Father in heaven. This is all through the power of the Holy Spirit, because I truly was lost and an incorrible sinner, but somehow the Spirit brought me back to the faith. Praise God! :clapping: :amen: :bible1:

I’m lucky enough to be born and raised a Catholic Christian in a freely Catholic Christian country. I have to say, even if I were not born as so, I would still eventually be a Christian. I admit I have been away from the faith more than once in my life (mosty due to selfishness) yet whenever I get logical and try to find some truth in this world, I always end up with the truth of the Faith. I love being a Christian and I’ll die with a crucifix in hand… 😃

God Bless you. I couldn’t have said it better. ā¤ļø  :blessyou:

why are u a christian? what makes u chose christianity over other beliefs (athiesm, judaism, islam, hinduism etc)? what makes christianity stand out?
šŸ‘‹

I’m a Christian because I Love Jesus Christ! ā¤ļø

I choose Christianity because of the Truth of Jesus Christ in the Gospel. Even though I was baptized Catholic, I did not know Jesus from the Gospel. So I’m glad I could say that I choose to stay in the Catholic Church after finally reading the bible and getting to know Jesus Christ in His Church.
do u think that u would have became a christian if not born as one?
I don’t know the answer to that. Only God knows and I’m not God. I’m just glad to know that God chose this life for me and made me his daughter when I was baptized into His One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. I’m just not too happy that it took me long enough to embrace that fact. But I’m here now… to stay!! šŸ‘

Peace and God bless. ā¤ļø

I’m also gald you stayed… 😃

Why am i a Christian? Because i can be. I’d rather be a Christian
than not. I’d rather know Jesus than not. I’d rather be in the One
Holy and True and Apostolic Church than not.

I’d rather serve God than not. I’d rather love Him than not. I’d rather
know I can have everlasting life than not. I’d rather receive the scaraments than not.

I’d rather be a Christian than not.
