Why aren't people from the Old Testament addressed as saints?

Since we know that all biblical characters who led a holy life and dutifully followed God’s will and instructions are in heaven and can intercede for us, why are only post-Christ personalities referred to as saints and why aren’t Old Testament prophets like Abraham, Moses, and Jeremiah given that title? In short why isn’t there a St. Moses?
 
They can be and sometimes are referred to as saints. I have a medal of St. Elias (Elijah the Prophet). It’s just not a universal practice to do so.
