Why baptize?

I have a very close friend who is expecting her first child and does not plan to have the baby baptized. She was raised Lutheran and doesn’t practice. I wonder what my role is. How much should I push her and how do I explain why it is necessary. I feel very strongly about this, but don’t know how right she is when she says it is none of my business.

Well Scripture says that Christ said that no unbaptized person will enter the kingdom. What does that mean to her?

(1) Pray for your friend and the baby.
(2) Don’t “push”. Ask God for the Grace to live your life in a way that will point to Christ (who draws all men unto Himself) and cooperate (with His Grace). (Preach the Gospel always - use words when necessary. -St. Francis)
(3) Pray for your friend and the baby.
(4) Be prepared to answer questions that your friend may present to you. Do not give answers that you are unsure of, rather tell her that you will “look that up” or “get back with her” and then do.
