In your sustaining that this is nonsense, prove to everyone that there was NO correlation between Hitler and the Catholic church.
This has been proven wrong so many times on this forum, why even bring it up.

Do you really think that anyone believes it?

Do you think that you are doing anyone anywhere any good by propagating myths?

do you get the feeling some posters couldn’t care less wehther they do that or not???

i think you may be wasting your time. Anyone who even makes this kinds of childish statements… has probably already made up his mind to be antiCatholic no matter what…

i hope i am wrong…

a lot of Protestants seem to have a metal lockign door in their mind when it comes to Catholicism…
Distracted, whether you are distracted  from knowledge of Hitler and WWII, but it is a historical fact Hitler was Protestant as an adult. Fact.

**I don’t need to. **
**Your only **point for bringing up Hitler is to antagonize because of your ardent anti-Catholicism.

**If Hitler was a practicing Catholic as a child, he certainly **was not a Catholic in good standing as he became the monster he ended up being.

Your insinuation that his being Catholic had something to do with his bizarre and perverted ideology is moronic - at best.

I could easily say that Dennis Rader, the notorious BTK Killer did so because he was an evangelical leader. Of course - that would be as stupid and juvenille as your assertion about Hitler.
Your arguments are futile. There are literally dozens of photos showing Catholic clergy socializing and giving nazi salutes along with nazis and even Hitler himself. Refute that sir.

Please give sources. I would like to see these pictures.

Hitler’s biography states he was Protestant as an adult. I don’t trust Wikipedia, they don’t even capatalize the word God.

What difference does it make if a person says they are Catholic and commit murder. Are they living there faith. Shouldn’t Catholics and Protestants try to live like Christ. Isn’t Jesus the example we try to follow? I don’t look at Hitler as an example of what a Catholic is or what a Protestant is. I’m not Catholic, I don’t intend to became Catholic but from what I have seen if you follow their teachings you will be saved. I believe salvation is through Jesus Christ. Follow the teachings of Jesus try to live the beatitudes. We all fall short but we are saved by the blood of the Lamb.

And your arguments are even more futile until you can show the photos you have mentioned and the titles going with them. The very famous photo on the flyleaf of John Cornwell’s book “Hitler’s Pope” has been shown to be misleading. The picture was taken before the election of Pope Pius XII to the Papcy at a time when he was conferring with Hitler’s representatives to try to get leniency and protection for Christians during the Nazi regime.

Anyone can say anything at any time, but the “proof is in the pudding”.

Yes and you undoubtedly read “The Deputy” and “Hitler’s Pope” - not to mention the many anti-Catholic “classics” by that poster-boy for insanity, Jack Chick.

Please show me the photos - and their CONTEXT. I can just as easily show you that Churchill and FDR were communists who approved of the atrocities in Russia because they posed for pictures with Joseph Stalin.

This garbage has been debunked over and over and over again - by grateful Jews, no less. Grateful for the work done by Pius XII to end their suffering at the hands of Nazi butchers.

Read:

The Myth of Hitler’s Pope: How Pope Pius XII Rescued Jews from the Nazis - a book written by Rabbi David G. Dalin.

Do yourself a favor and stop embrassing yourself by bringing up this unsubstantiated nonsense. Educate yourself - then we’ll have intelligent discourse.

What a revelation? Oh, those picture were prior to Germany starting the war and it’s mass extermination. Really the Catholic faith does have some blemishes. Why do you refer back to ones so easily dismissed?

I just love elvisman’s posts…and colorful too! Thank you for defending our church. We need more people like you. 👍

HMMM, YUMMY! A bit tangy, but nice.

One thing we can say about Adolph; he cannot cite Invincible Ignorance for a defense!

We can clearly see that Germany was not forsaken by The Church. Pretty much the same as there were Catholic bishops in Iraq and USA during recent conflicts.

You got any photos of Protestant leaders ‘trying’ ANYTHING with the Nazi regime?

I’ve only got the ‘usual old ones’ of Protestants throwing stones from INSIDE their glass houses! 😃

Okay. Went to the pictures, gave a brief reading of the Concordat. As far as I can see in the Concordat, the Vatican was protecting itself and Catholics from various laws which the Nazi government might try to implement in the future, which would have a detrimental effect on the Papacy, members of the Roman Catholic Church and Vatican City. For instance Article I: The German Reich guarantees freedom of profession and public practice of the Catholic religion. It acknowledges the right of the Catholic Church, within the framework of the laws valid for all, to manage and regulate its own affairs independently, and, within the framework of its own competence, to issue binding laws and ordinances for its members. There are several Articles, too many to list here.

I would say the Concordat was written with extreme foresight. The Pope and other ecclesiastics must have had at least a tremor of a notion as to what could possibly happen under Nazi jurisdiction, or they wouldn’t have found it necessary to go to the extremes of protecting themselves with a written agreement which they hopefully thought would protect the members of the Church. In reality, it didn’t.

Although many of the pictures of Catholic Clergy shown with Hitler’s henchmen are incriminating, I for one DO NOT believe the Vatican supported the Nazi regime after WWII started in 1939. The pictures which mentioned a year in which they were taken, not all did, were pre War, around 1933. Because some of the “human” clergy were misguided, or misunderstood Hitler’s intent does not mean the Catholic Church, itself a spirtual lighthouse standing in the middle of chaos, was also culpable. I would have to see documentation of what these priests, friers, nuns were doing “for” the Reich when they realized what Hitler was up to.

See: Concordat between the Holy See and the German Reich [with Supplementary Protocol and Secret Supplement]July 20, 1933 See webpage:

Thank you, my friend!
We must stand together against the cancer of ignorant, hateful, anti-Catholicism.

Hmmmm . . .
More ignorance from an atheistic site that endorses the writings of none other than the God-Hater du jour, Richard Dawkins, no less.

**Notice how it rarely mentions that the pictures with the Clergy and Nazi officials were takes in the **early 1930’s - before anybody had an inlking of the atrocities to come.

**Notice how it doesn’t mention the fact that Hitler was deeply involved in occultic practices as well as worship of Teutonic pagan gods, such as ****Odin ****and **Thor

**By the way, the corcordat with Germany signed in 1933 was to protect the Church against Nazi aggression and provided for allowances for the Church to grow within Germany. It was no surprise that Hitler reneged on his promises and persecuted the Church in the following years. In 1937, Pope Pius XI issued the encyclical Mit brennender Sorge **(With Burning Concern). **
In the encyclical, Pius XI criticized Nazi philosophy and warned the German government to fulfill the terms of the Concordat. How did the Nazis respond? With a wave of
priest trials **on trumped-up charges.
You just refuse to do your homework, don’t you, SIA??

You probably Googled “Hitler” and “Catholic Church” and pasted the ugliest site you could find – not realizing that much of what is on this site is anti-Protestant as well.

How convenient that you don’t mention how complicit the Protestant churches were at the time.
**According to your little hate-site, Hitler’s appointed Reich Bishop, Ludwig Mueller, **“sought to synthesize Nazi ideology and Protestant tradition and to agitate for a “people’s church” based on ‘good Aryan blood.’"

Just as there were Catholic heroes who stood against the aggression of Hitler’s Nazi Party – there were also the Protestant heroes who championed the cause of religious freedom, such as the Pastors’ Emergency League.

A little advice for you, SIA – if you’re going to try to spread your hate here, you’re up against a well-informed army of Defenders of the Faith. If you want to have** charitable ****dialogue – let us reason together. If you’re here just to spread more ignorant hatred - try selling your ****garbage **somewhere else.

Prior to Pope Pious becoming Pope he officially condemned the Nazi regime 55 times. This was when he was the ambassador of the Vatican to Germany. These acts caused repercussions from Hitler. In fact when Pope Pious was ordained the German government strongly opposed it as Pope Pious was considered a “Jew” lover.

Once he became Pope and Hitler began his rain of terror of killing it was told to him by the German government that any negative actions by him would cause more deaths. As a result Pope Pious chose not to excommunicate Hitler. He also limited the number of speeches in which he directly confronted Hitler. In fact Hitler hated Pope Pious so much that he had plans created to kidnap him. The Pope knew of these plans; however, did not leave the Vatican. He instead had letters drawn that when kidnapped his papacy would end and that a new Pope would need to be selected. He did not want the Germans to be able to use him against the world.

After the war many of the leading Jewish people publicly gave their gratitude to the Pope for saving hundreds of thousand of Jews. The Catholic Church under the direct charge of the Pope gave millions of dollars to underground groups that were saving Jewish people. To one group alone he donated 4 million dollars. In fact he personally hid 4,000 Jewish children at his estate. After the war the Jewish people gave him their highest honor as a “righteous gentile”.
