Why bother if participation doesnt matter

You mean to say these geniuses actively promote a rite that intends to unite same sex persons in a sham of marriage because they know better than God?
Or do you mean these geniuses use this same gay agenda to deter any truthful view upon the personhood of the unborn to continue Margaret Sanger’s eugenics program for elimination of undesirables?
You are correct there are too many rules and laws with regards to a secular liturgy. Or were you really speaking of this in relation to meeting the maker of the universe in the most intimate act in which you may participate both in this life and in the world to come?
Pardon me if I sound confused to you. Conflating materialism and imposing legalism over the reality of the human person does seem to negate the value in mass participation. The truth of the matter is that receiving the Host during The Holy Sacrifice of the mass unworthily brings judgement upon the participant. This could be a very tiring process leaving the participant feeling drained and primarily joyless.
Perhaps joining the state run church and avoiding the underground liturgy is the best course of action? I would recommend a good confession and finding time to get to know some of these strangers by actively volunteering at your parish. But, of course, most good people understand this restricts freedom and brings to question the validity of those reproductive rights that God has granted.
So, perhaps drinking beer with the atheists across the street is really the best course of action for killing an hour and not dealing with all that ritualism.
Sure hope this post helps resolve your difficulty.

to be honest no it didnt help, and really neither did any of the responses here help, it just became poking remarks like you gave of, dur do you know better than God, and just ignoring exactly what i was saying or twisting what i was saying to try and fit into what ever argumentative answer was given an quoted with scripture sayings. But as you can see from my newest last reply on here I already answered all this and I made my remarks very easy to understand and I already explained why I am ready to let this thread die off. But what ever; you an everyone else here just picks and chooses what to respond to, slaps a canon law quote an scripture quote an calls it a day and wont even fathom an opposite thought process. an again, i wasn’t trying to sway anyones opinion. But what ever feel free to vent out a response, i had my turn at venting.

I know how to take care of myself. Thanks.

Lets see how long this goes before someone else responds and drags out the 14 day time limit on closing the thread.

I don’t want to waste any more time on this and I hope no one else does either. But again I get it if one wants too.

Yes you clearly do understand. .it works that way. Or not if you participate.

I recently saw another thread , in which the comment was made that laity participation in the mass is not necessary for the mass to be valid, that the priest alone makes the mass valid, wether or not anyone is there.

so then; exactly what is the purpose of being forced to go to a mass under obligation and with a penalty imposed if we dont go, or imposed upon ones return, only to be told it doesnt matter if we participate or not.
We have to participate as required per the Missal. Sit, stand, kneel, response, sing, listen, pray, et al.

I think a clarification is in order that may help you to understand the responses: This thread isn’t just about you.

You asked why there was a serious and binding obligation for a Catholic to participate at Mass on Sundays and holy days if lay participation is not strictly required for a Mass to be valid.

The Church is very clear about why the various moral laws are binding. You have to realize that if you come here and “vent” about why some law or another shouldn’t be in effect, of course people are going to answer your points. It isn’t just for your benefit, because this thread survives in an accessible record for anyone with your concerns to read. If you offer counter-arguments to replies, those are going to be answered, as well.

You are free to ignore the thread, no matter how long people keep replying. You started a public discussion, though, and it is sure to keep on going for as long as you keep replying with objections to answers given, because everyone who answered is likely to offer a clarification to the concerns raised in your answers.

these drivel cookie cutter answers are really starting to get nausiating.
If you go down to the bottom of the thread you will find “tracking” tools. If you open that there is a “mute” option that will unsubscribe you to the thread, so you will no longer see it in your unread posts, or get notices that replies were posted.

Thank you for an actual useful answer guanophore I didn’t know that feature was even there and now people can continue on hoping to bait me into responding and keeping this dead horse alive.
