Why can't God let animals be in heaven?

The animals are created by God for our service, so it isn’t unjust to domesticate them nor to make them work for us since this is part of the order of nature.
What about those Orca whales? Were they created for our service so that we can watch them jump through hoops for our amusement at places like Sea World?

MT was an atheist; it would be a mistake to turn to him for understanding of the other life.

That said, if dogs, at least have no everlasting life, that would be a monumental waste of loyalty and affection.

I’d like to think that if it made us happy, God would allow our pets to see us, but maybe in a lower level of heaven. And what about service dogs that have saved humans, police dogs and war dogs, cats, birds and fish. If the earth is renewed perhaps all will be there. What about the lion laying next to the lamb, and the child handling a serpent?

If you google scripture, animals, Heaven, then a list of all the passages that imply that animals will be in Heaven come up.

One group called the Rainbow Bridge tries to comfort people who lose pets with these passages.

The answer is that we don’t know about animals and Heaven, but there are good reasons to hope that they will be there.

I loved my pets, but everything that is good about pets comes from God since He is good. I want to be in heaven to dwell in that which is the cause of all good, not to sit around patting the head of something that while good, only points to the supreme good. Why would I waste my time admiring a dog when I have God to admire perpetually and eternally?

I don’t understand why anyone would care if animals go to heaven or if they just cease to exist. Whatever GOD decides to do is just and right and good.

AMEN, and it is HIS creation, not ours. We should be more concerned about our own path to Heaven. God Bless, Memaw

And though that is a noble and pious thought, it also makes less (though I’m sure unintentionally) of the gift these animals are to us from God. I cannot see a problem with all of creation rejoicing in His presence someday. After all we join with the angels at Mass in the Sanctus when we say, “HOLY, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts. Heaven and earth are full of Thy glory. Hosanna in the highest…” I see these dear friends as part of that fullness of glory on earth. 🤷

That assumes that we are not, which is of course not at all the case.

Let me ask you Memaw…do you have a pet?

Those who say animals can go to heaven ignore this passage.
Not at all, since no one that I have ever known has proposed that animals are either angelic in nature or even human . Scripture plainly tells us that no one knows whether animal spirits and human ones go to different places. Beyond that…so what?

If the Bible does say that in Heaven the lion and lamb will lie down together then it seems animals will indeed be there.

Why does any of this wind some of you up so badly? If you disagree…well and good, but you cannot say (as I have pointed out the church teachings in an earlier post) that this contradicts it.

No one has to believe that animals can be found in the Kingdom of God and if someone like myself chooses to believe this and take consolation from it then no harm is done to anyone else because it’s just a pious personal matter.

I think some of you argue just for the sake of argument. 🤷

Yes I agree; particularly your final para.👍

Why not? Who would likely give a flip (pun intended) about them, other than whale-fans, if we couldn’t see shows like that?

What’s inherently wrong with those shows if they spur interest in oceanic conservation?

Are you being Protestant?

Humans are “little lower than the angels.” Animals are not.
And yet, unlike Angels, we are not heavenly beings. We are every bit as much **earthen ** body as spiritual soul.

So we have as much “right” to Heaven as a dog or cat.

If we are a step below Angels, animals are the next step down. No reason for all 3 not to see eternal life.
