Hi,
I used to have some involvement with the occult before I found the Church, and I must say:
Satan exists, but believing anything outside of what is church dogma on the occult is probably not a good idea. Don’t believe in “magical laws”, in fact, I don’t believe in magic per se, but rather a being who can sometimes produce the illusion of magic. After leaving the occult I would find that Satan did (and still does) like to toy with symbols, ideas, and minor coincidences and such based on past delusional beliefs in my subjective experience of life in order to scare me and threaten me, but any threats almost never come to fruition (due either to action of the angels, or Satan’s impotence, I know not).
Belief in occult energies, symbols having power in and of themselves, and “magical laws” such as “the law of attraction” (one of the most pernicious, paranoia and fear-inducing doctrines imaginable if taken to its logical conclusion) are, in my opinion and personal experience, diabolical deceptions meant to conceal the existence of Satan behind a web of illusions, a sort of “systematization” of the occult to hide the Devil (or, at least, the Church’s version of the Devil) from occultists, similar to how Satan tries to make materialistic atheists think that the spiritual world doesn’t even exist, and doesn’t seem to do much to disturb this notion from the minds of atheists, for the most part.
If you buy into superstition, you will enter an abyss where you are mentally enslaved by symbols, coincidences, numerical relations. It’s actually very hard to get out of, because in my experience the Devil will try to reinforce it, but know that God is much more powerful than Satan, and that everyone has a Guardian Angel which protects them, and that St. Michael the Archangel and the Virgin Mary are powerful intercessors against evil.
By the way, even if the pandeist view of the occult were correct, there are a lot more Christians than occultists.
