I was just contacted by a friend of mine on Facebook, and she is a Catholic school teacher. She asked me why non-Catholic students are NOT allowed to read at Mass. Can you help me with this?
Because they’re not Catholic. Lectoring is a ministry at Mass, open to lay Catholics in some circumstances. Non-Catholics are welcome to attend Mass, but should not expect to participate in Catholic ministries during Mass.
