I believe if the Lord wants them saved the Lord evently leads them into His fold. and the Catholic Church is the Gate to Heaven. Amen. if they knew what we know they would run into this Church and ask for forgiveness for all the years they have prosecuted Jesus Church. CC.I know what you mean Wisdomseeker, but as Esther points out, Truth is not given for ‘us’ only but for all, so that we may all be one!
Sure, there are many who ‘hate’ it just because it comes from Catholics and / or it sounds Catholic. But we must be as tireless as He is patient, for through this Truth, indeed, ALL MAY BE ONE!

God wants all of us, every human being to be saved!
And you are right that the Lord eventually will lead them into the fold. If they choose to follow Him, of course they will be lead into the fold.
However, we are called to be Christ’s feet, Christ’s hands, meaning that He may wish to use us as the tools by which He leads His lost sheep home.
We might be the tools of Christ, used to explain, catechise and eventually welcome others into His Church, if we allow ourselves to be used by Him.
Personally, I’m all for it.

I understand what you say and agree. what i am saying is the arguments between us and them is not going to convert them. if they are truly sincere and interested in finding out about the CC they will ask with interest and joy to know the answers but those who are interested only in let us know how right they are and how herectics we are i am not interested in those.

I just moved to southern Virginia and man o man, the fundamentalists are thick as fleas here. And ppl just love to bring up religion as soon as they meet you. As soon as they learn you are a Catholic, they go after you. Where’s THAT in the Bible? Why do you worship Mary? And, can you believe this–Why do you worship the pope?
It is frustrating anyway. But it is really frustrating when you get half way through an answer and they ask another question. It is as if they just want to pester you and wear you down. It is exhausting. I may just start sending them here to this forum and let you guys go after them.

Welcome and hello from Alabama!
I know how frustraiting it can be. Many people who jump from topic to topic do so for one of three reasons. First, they want to “get out” all the stuff that they have heard and don;t care for discussion. Second, they are interested in discussion, but all they know is the surface statement and are not ready for deeper thought. Third, they do not understand how discussion works anyway and are just flapping their gums!
Anyway, brush up on your faith. Be ready to answer questions with patience and love. Be kind and gentle in keeping them on the topic at hand. Most (name removed by moderator)ortantly, let your actions speak for you.
Anytime you have a question, shout out.

don’t worry arthur. they have made this their job. to steal catholics from the Church, otherwise they wouldnt have a church. Remember what Jesus said: many will come in my name and deceive many. make sure you know your faith well. ask them who was the first pope. they hate this question. we know was Peter. today pope Benedict. ask them how old is their church. how old is the Catholic Church. remind them to research about their church’s founder. May God keep you in truth always.

Thanks for the welcome. I am a cradle with a love for Eastern liturgy too. I love the Church, but need to brush up on my answers. Thanks for the tips.
I get the impression they change topics so much just to wear me out, but your ideas are helping me think about what is going on.
Being from the North, I am kinda shocked how much ppl like to talk about religion down here. We yanks do talk about religion except with family and fellow Catholics, really. But down here, it is kinda the same conversation with some at work and neighbors ans just whoever. They certainly think my religious beliefs are their personal business. And it seems to be their personal mission to change my religion.
I am never rude to them and try to bring some humor into it. But, they get so serious and determined. I guess I showed my weakness on the bible and my willingness to talk about religion so I made myself a target in their eyes. I just hope I dont lose patience one day and be rude to someone. But frankly, while they are all “sweet and smiles” as they say, I do find their interest in my religion pretty rude.
At least none of them are as overtly rude as the one Orthodox priest I met once. Yipes. Now that was scary!!

Wow…kind of thick in here with LOTS of assumptions and broad strokes on both sides of the fence…I actually had my mouth gaping open on a few of these comments!
First off I would like to officially apologize to ANY Catholic that was bothered while praying to God! Simply unacceptable and I NEVER ONCE see an example of Christ doing this even to a Pharisee!
So…from a Protestant/Closet-Somewhat-Catholic-o-holic…I’d like to say…pray on dear brother…commune with God…and BLESS YOU!
Now…for some of the Catholics…remember the love of the Father. Remember that not everyone was raised in the Catholic Church or schooling and to hear some fast talking Rosary praying going on in a corner…well if you aren’t used to it can be about as confusing as…well tax laws!
I love the information on the Rosary and of course it LIKE SO MANY other things in BOTH Protestant and Catholics and even every other religion out there…we can get in a routine and forget the heart of the message and confuse it as routine.

Newmans apolegetics the four marks of the Church. Catholic.com there many others that help to strenght your faith and teach you some apologetics. Biblechristiansociety.com these are great websites. Pre-cisely - & the same goes for other questions of the “Why do/don’t Catholics/Protestants…?” kind.
Both sides have followers who won’t leave the others to their worship and devotion. Why? Humans have an insane need to be better than others. To prove that Daddy loves them best and all others are evil satan worshippers because they don’t trust or believe that God can love someone as sinful as their own souls can be. It’s a self esteem kind of thing though it goes so much deeper than the mental / psycholigical esteem we have done so many studies on. This is the esteem that our souls are in. If they can prove that they are holier than anyone else then God CAN’T leave them behind. But then there are others who are so passionate about their beliefs and that they REALLY do believe that the others are sinners and don’t want to see them left behind that they try to convince the others of the error of their ways. Anyway they can. Unfortunately, if not done in love, people lose sight of the real reason that this person is accusing them of sinning. The focus of this person is that they don’t want to see anyone unknowingly separate themselves from God so the scream and fight all the while thinking they are being convincing but in reality they are turning them away.
Either way, it needs to stop. Catholics, stop telling protestants their belief system is from satan and protestants stop telling catholics their belief system is the anti-christ. We all have a heart for God and we should rely on Him to guide us to unity instead of trying to force the other side to go against everything they believe God has led them to.
