I met this wonderful person. Very responsible, very honest, hardworking, generous, rational, exceptional listener, helpful, realistic, charming and lovable. Then I saw a bad side she can be grudgeful, harsh, sarcastic, controlling and very passive aggressive to those she hates. Why can’t people be perfect? A sin is an offense to God why do people deliberately choose to sin if they know better and especially if the sin is self destructive

Is saying no one is perfect an excuse to continue sinning

Adam & Eve were perfect but the devil knew how to make them Fall!

People may be imperfect, but we all have to learn to forgive and be merciful.
Or else we’re no better.

Aren’t we all that way? We have our good side and we have our bad side.

I’m sure this person can say the same thing about you.

Sources of error are ignorance, passion, and malice, so imperfection will be related to those. Since original sin, we are inclined to sin so need sanctifying grace to fight those temptation. Of course we can reject the gift of grace.

Because we are a pack animal. I would think for some perfection would be much easier if a few more people were. But sadly we are surrounded by horrible.

If 9/10 people waited until marriage how much easier would it be to wait? To not decide there are no women of quality so why not just be like the 9/10?

If 9/10 people did not steal, lie, cheat, how much easier to help someone? I mean I have land for example… in a perfect world “hey homeless guy come pop up a tent for a few weeks, eat dinner with me, and let’s help you out”

Lol, yeah… so then he steals my stuff?

Or maybe he does a fake slip and fall and sues me?

Or employs some long term squaters rights or landlord duties and takes my money?

Or is a creeper to my family?

Or is a drug addict?

Or as many I have met, just is not getting a job because they are horrible.

But all this, how wonderful a world where helping others was not dangerous.

Most imoortantly if 9/10 people stopped saying “nobody is perfect” as an excuse to be horrible 😦

But I think in much aspects, there is the narrow gate and then there is the flood gate. There is a reason one is narrow.

Since we all sin, you could ask yourself that question. Why do you sin? We are human and need to repent.

Perhaps I held this person too high on a pedestal. She seemed perfectly put together.

All pedestals are too high because no one is perfectly put together. Don’t idolize people, and you won’t be disappointed by them so easily.

Though no one is perfect, lack of perfection is not a license to sin with impunity.

She was blunt with me about what I needed to correct in myself. I thought she would be humble enough to own up to her own faults. She is very much into pushing people into taking responsibility for their actions - I did not think she would have that same fault. Projection, is it?

There is an old saying thay is often true:

“Takes one to know one”

Was talking to a guy at work. His wife throws a party every year and laments the people who rsvp and then no show for no reason. She feels these people are very mean/rude.

He says she also does this regularly to people and not out of retribution, she is just weird and will decide like 5 mins before leaving she feels like sitting on the couch…

Funny how people are.

How is what she said any different from what you are saying about her?

Correction is always hard to take.
It’s the people who really desire conversion that take it and use it to repentance.

Haha. My sister does that. We will decide to go somewhere. Out of nowhere will not want to go. I do not know why though.

That is true, isn’t it?

Don’t be so hard on this person. Remember, you are a sinner too. We all have a sinful nature. God knows that. Yet, He has mercy on us. None of us are above sin. It would be prideful to think otherwise. The problem is we come into this world with a sin nature. So do not be surprised when you sin or see others sinning. It is only by grace that we can be transformed to be more like Christ. So even the one who is more like Christ can not boast. For he is only there by grace, and apart from grace he would fall.

This person has just been upsetting me lately that is why.
