Why are you always right? Not always, but your responses are on point.
We all help each other grow spiritually.Meaning?
yup. Keep in mind, that if we continue to associate with an abuser, we can expect more of the same.I get it no one is perfect. It does not give them the license to bully or abuse you. That is wrong. Perhaps I am just stuck in the past and I need to move forward.
Yes. We must all learn to set boundaries.yup. Keep in mind, that if we continue to associate with an abuser, we can expect more of the same.
When we walk away from them, sometimes they get the hint.
In any case, you have removed yourself from the bad situation. In a very real sense, we teach people how much they can get away with.
Stay long term with someone who is awful? You send the message “it’s ok, use me as a doormat, it’s cool”.
At some point, we all have to learn to say “enough”.
I definitely agree now. No body always lives up to their words. I guess there should be more freedom in knowing that we are all sinners. All pedestals are too high because no one is perfectly put together. Don’t idolize people, and you won’t be disappointed by them so easily.
Though no one is perfect, lack of perfection is not a license to sin with impunity.
Well actually, it is objectively possible to always live up to one’s words. I’m blessed to know a couple of people like this. Rare though it is (in my experience), I would not say nobody does this.I definitely agree now. No body always lives up to their words. Lucky you. To be honest, most people do not always live up to their own words. What I meant to say is that our expectations should for others should be less high because in reality we are all sinners. That is the challenging thing about Christian faith, expect less from others, but have high expectations for yourself. Is it always possible to live Christian message fully? Hmm…we have saints like St. Maria Goretti who prove we can go beyond the flesh and forgive the deplorable and even to go as far as caring for the soul of the one who offended you. She is truly Christ-like her example. It honestly gives me the chills thinking about her life story. The crime committed against her is unbelievable as is her mercy. How come most people do not live up to her example? Laziness? Excuses? Pride? Not a solid enough relationship with God?Well actually, it is objectively possible to always live up to one’s words. I’m not sure what you mean when you say “I guess there should be more freedom in knowing that we are all sinners.” In what way(s) does the knowledge that everyone is a sinner impact freedom?
Saying “most people” is more accurate. Your original statement of “nobody” would be difficult to substantiate; the two people I know already refute it.Lucky you. I disagree, having done so myself on several occasions at great personal cost. Do I reveal all 100% of the time? No. But to say this never happens is objectively false.Furthermore, no one tells the whole truth, the absolute truth ever. It would be naive to believe everything even the most honest person says. They have their biases, assumptions and incorrect perceptions.
Meh… I can maintain a leaned honesty but only until asked. Then it will be straight. Which is why in real life honesty is not really what peopel want LOL.Furthermore, no one tells the whole truth, the absolute truth ever. A lot of my questions and statements are theoretical, or just my observations on humanity as a whole. More philosophical. I am not really worrying about anyone in particular’s soul but I do like to wonder about human nature.I disagree, having done so myself on several occasions at great personal cost. Again, why preoccupy ourselves with what other people are doing or not doing, saying or not saying, thinking or not thinking, when we each have so much to consider within our own souls?
Patience is a virtue and faith is a gift. It does “suck” that some wicked people get away with a lot in this life. Your statement is precisely why I love St. Maria Goretti so much. I am lucky I am not smart enough to get away with my sins. Maybe God loves me that is why I always get trapped or face the consequences of my actions. Maybe God loves me by providing me with wonderful friends and family member that can clearly see my shortcomings and sins. Being transparent is a gift and a curse.Revenge probably. People want people to PAY, right now.
Crooks, haters, liars, cheats, don’t always get their comeuppance right now. That will happen in the next life. However, if you don’t believe on God or heaven, you likely don’t believe in Satan or hell. So people hate instead of forgiving.
Without a relationship with God, it’s easy to be lost.
