Why can't we receive Communion at a Lutheran service?

I recently attended a funeral service at our local Lutheran Church. I was amazed that the service was 95% identical to the Catholic Mass. They also believe in the Real Presence in the Eucharist. I did not take communion but many of my fellow Catholics did. Can you please explain the Church teaching on this and why or why not should a Catholic receive communion in a Protestant church who believe in the Real Presence.
