Why can't women be Catholic priests?

I’ve heard the usual explanation – that none of the apostles were female – but that just doesn’t seem like a strong enough argument. Jesus reached out to, was supported by, and taught many women (Mary Magdalene sat at His feet as a student sits in front of a teacher). It’s hard for me, as a Catholic woman, to realize I can only possibly receive six sacraments instead of seven. It seems like part of the Church is being withheld. Not only that, but there are serious issues in the Church that are being handled by men alone. In what other modern institution does this happen? Where is the female voice? I have more concerns, but the instructions say to keep this brief. Thank you.
