The link below answers both these questions, at least partially. It is an advertizement for Ave Maria University but it illustrates good reasons to be Catholic first of all and, secondly, it explains the reason to get a good Catholic education. Of course it is idealized and is not limited to Ave Maria University. It gives the reason to defend and promote and finance truly Catholic education at every level. Watch and see.

This promotion is not an indictment of those who cannot afford a Catholic education for their children. But it may be an indictment of those who have the ability to provide such an education for those who cannot afford it, and perhaps it explains why there should not be any Catholic anywhere who maintains a high standard of living for themselves while these needs are not being met. Perhaps it should be cause for many Catholics living in wealthy ghettos to examine their consciences.
