Why is that so hard to understand - some people are created to be tall also. Just look around you will find many good, loving homosexuals created all around you.
Tsk,
What is it you are trying to prove. I went back and read all your posts. I am going to take the liberty to point out your thinking and where I see issues in your thinking. I believe you are confused and when you write to the public on this forum you want me and others to accept your confusion.
Faith is consent or surrender to the divine reality before the experience of God is broken down into belief systems. The Catholic church points us to the truth, which is Christ. Your question is dualistic and aims, in my view, to highlight division, not unity. We, as Catholics, must avoid such righteous thinking. .
Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen. Faith is what we believe based on Church teaching that comes from Scripture and Tradition.
. I choose the Catholic church not because of its leadership but because from it’s core dogma’s and doctrines great saints have arisen - it is a rock of what Jesus taught often in spite of it’s own controversies and failures. Unless you are able to look past the always imperfect people that comprise church, you will never find comfort in any religious institution. Trust God…Love people.
You are Catholic and often speak of Church teaching. I believe that you struggle with what you want and what the Church teaches.
Of course - every day has it’s cross to bear. It is only when we admit we are powerless and surrender our trust fully to our Higher Power that we can find serenity.
As a man who went through and survived a mid-life crisis I would offer that God used my own bouts with porn and masturbation to call me to him. Sometimes God uses our greatest weaknesses and sin to reveal himself to us. I also have 4 children and am madly in love and committed to my wife of 26 years.
You suggest we surrender to our Higher Power, this is 12 step think speak jargon that sounds good however the 12 steps is just a religion, as declared by the Federal Circuit Courts, and I won’t go into that, however you swallowed their paradigm. You admit that you can change.
Fear and suffering are always something we choose to do. They are also an invitation to prayer and surrender. Pain is inevitable, but suffering - resisting the truth of what is, or trying to control things that are beyond our control - is nothing more than the ego asserting itself.
There are 2 paths in life…the path of pleasure and the path of wisdom. When you choose pleasure you are separating yourself from being open to the will of God as your focus is on yourself and your own satisfaction…you are not in service to others and to God.
There are 2 paths in life…the path of pleasure and the path of wisdom. Choose the path of wisdom and your need for sexual pleasure will be replaced by the pleasure that can only come in knowing your true self, true nature and God. In my experience you cannot find the answer in the depths of any addictive/pleasure-oriented behavior.
I understand your understanding of paths. You may want to read Veritatis splendor…the path of my will and the path of God’s Will…choose one or the other and the result is true freedom, freedom from fear…then you are not choosing according to your paradigm…
Catholicism is a religion - a system of beliefs to help guide you on your journey back to God.
When the Catechism of the Catholic Church was first published, paragraph 2358 read as follows:
The number of men and women who have deeply-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. They do not choose their homosexual condition; for most of them it is a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord’s Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.
The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord’s Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.
You take issues with the wording in the CCC and have stated so. The CCC we have comes from the same Church that you say is the faith you follow. It is what it is. Past wording has nothing to do with what is.
As Fr. Rohr teaches the dualistic mind is not the Christ mind. Anyone that dismisses his teachings because they don’t, in their opinion, sync with Rome is dualistic and clearly not open to the workings of the Spirit in all times and all of creation…including Fr. Rohr. His talks and writings continue to inspire many around the world. A real gem of our day for anyone serious about their spiritual journey…
You found something appealing to you. That is great. I have studied the New Age stuff and he appears to have incorporated into a Christian view. Good for him. You have to understand that the Church is not Fr. Rohr and Fr. Rohr is not the Church. Your writings constantly bring up this teaching of “dualistic mind”…good for him and you. I don’t have to accept this paradigm.
If someone were to ask: what is the “official” teaching of the Catholic Church? My response is see:
vatican.va/archive/index.htm
This archive is inclusive of the Bible, CCC, Canon Law, VII documents, etc…What is your response?
The documents of Vatican II include the Bible, the CCC and the ascent of truth in the councils document. Obviously it includes the entire Church history. My point was those documents in total represent the current ascent of the truth and are the Catholic faith.
You admit that the Church teachings as a Catholic are as you state and yet you resist the teaching on homosexuality. Compare and contrast this with your posting this inane thought.
When we subjugate our values to words in the CCC, the Bible, or other church teachings without careful discernment and questioning we do nothing to love or defend the church… we have failed at Love’s work.
Alcoholism is a disease and an addiction. Our modern term for addiction is what they called Demon’s in biblical times. Many suffer from this disease.
You have been brainwashed by the media and the council on alcoholism that addiction is a disease. It is not now or ever been a disease. It is malarky that unfortunately people believe. Arrowsmith, the band, all went to rehab. What is the likelyhood that these guys from different walks of life formed a band and all suffered from this “disease” and wen to rehab and now don’t drink. So here I see that you are subject to acceptance of other than rational thinking.
Re: Can a Homosexual become a Heterosexual?
Yes, I’ve seen it occur. A friends daughter was a practicing lesbian for years. She is now a happily married woman (to a man).
In this posting you admit that homosexuals can become heterosexual or change. They made a choice and you admitted you changed and made a choice in your marriage. What is it you are trying to prove here about homosexuals existing?
Homosexuals exist.
The Church you say has the teachings that include the CCC…says that homosexual actions are disordered.
What is it you want people to accept?
Do you believe that you have same sex attraction?
I believe you are confused.
