Can you give me an example?I would be very careful in saying that nothing can be outside science. That simply is not true, at least not with our current abilities.

The spiritual world is untouchable by the physical and biological sciences. Can you give me an example?
Sure, april. Science tries to find answers.I think you will find science is trying to find answers and not making faith-based assertions, - that is the province of religions.
Quick example, philosophy is well outside of the scientific domain. Both deal equally with truths. Can you give me an example?
1+1=2 is not a scientific claim, but it is true. Can you give me an example?
The nature of beauty. Can you give me an example?
With all due respect, how can anything be outside science. Can you be more explicit on your proposition. The spiritual world is untouchable by the physical and biological sciences.
Can you elaborate.Quick example, philosophy is well outside of the scientific domain. Both deal equally with truths.
Why can’t that be studied and added to our body of knowledge. The nature of beauty.
Faith won’t butter any parsnips. What are you suggesting I believe without studying it?Sure, april. Science tries to find answers.
But YOU are a man of faith. You believe something without having a single scientific study to back you up.
That’s fine, of course.
Just as long as you hear that voice whispering in your mind: “I believe something based on faith. I heard a man say ‘Science is the only means we have for getting answers’ and I believed what he said. But I don’t have any science that backs me up.”
Just think about that for a while.
It’s amusing for me to think about you coming to the realization that you are a person of faith.![]()
Beause it can’t. Science can’t answer “why do we find X beautiful?” There is nothing to study. But just because science can’t stufy doesn’t make it outside this “body of knowledge”Why can’t that be studied and added to our body of knowledge.
Why do you see that as being outside study?“It is wrong to kill an innocent person without grave reason” is also true, but outside the scope of science.
(Catholics of course also believe that it’s wrong to (directly) kill an innocent person even with grave reason. But that at least implies the common-ground position that it’s certainly wrong to kill without grave reason.)
What “hard” evidence of the spiritual world would be available for science to study? With all due respect, how can anything be outside science. Can you be more explicit on your proposition.
Why not? Why can’t ‘Why do we find X beautiful’ not be studied. Who says we can’t study that? Or get to understand that.Beause it can’t. Because there is nothing to quantify, there is no mathimatic forumla for beauty. There isn’t a process you can set up to study it. There isn’t an experiment you can do to find out why we find certain things beautiful. The best you could get is a list of things we find beautiful. That does not make it beyond understanding, merely beyond science. There is a huge difference between those things. Why not? Why can’t ‘Why do we find X beautiful’ not be studied. Who says we can’t study that? Or get to understand that.
This is what you believe: Science is the ONLY method we have for discerning truth.Faith won’t butter any parsnips. What are you suggesting I believe without studying it?
Now that is a great question! But what do you mean by ‘hard’ evidence? Like any attempt to study something we need to start with assembling what we know about the ‘spiritual world’, any ‘experts’ we have, interactions with the ‘spiritual world’, how it manifests itself and obviously develop a method of collating all the information on ‘spiritual world’ that we have and how to examine and test it’s veracity. What “hard” evidence of the spiritual world would be available for science to study?
I don’t. I see it as being outside empirical or scientific study. Why do you see that as being outside study?
