I agree. It is the job of the Magisterium to define sin. Not some random stranger on the internet. When I was Evangelical everybody and his dog felt it was his duty to define sin. I thought I was free of that when I came to the Catholic church. I was wrong.
Nah, most Catholics do not do this. In fact, I’ve never seen it anywhere but on this forum. I believe these are not well-formed consciences.

You are then on good way of developing the disease of alchoholism!

Secondly it is not funny and certainly nothing to make fun about.
nonsense. I cut the Grangestone with a single cube, and everything is ok.

It was a JOKE, shall I define that for you? Sounds as though you might take yourself a wee bit too seriously.

If it was a joke, then it is very bad humour.

Alchohol has destroyed families and you see that as fun?

SHAME ON YOU!!!

Shame on you!!!

This is very low to make fun about something as serious as alchoholism is.
Do you have any idea about how many people has been affected negatively by alchohol?
Who is making fun of alcoholism? I think you are reading more into these posts than what is really there.

It is everywhere on this forum… You don’t agree with me on interpreting Genesis - You are a sinner, you don’t agree with me on how we should dress - You are a sinner, You watch TV shows that I don’t like - You are a sinner, and on and on it goes.

I’m not sure I approve of your font.

the possibility that someone, somewhere, is having fun is Serious Business.
Apparently you forgot that in order to be a good Catholic you must be stone-faced, depressed, living in constant fear of Hell, and never laugh - EVER!!! [/sarcasm]

Some makes fun out of it and thats really not very catholic at all.

I do not agree with the OP that even smaller quantities is sinful, what upsets me is when this HUGE social problem is turned into a matter of spectacle and made fun of.

Somehow i understand, people usually make jokes about things that is too difficult to talk about seriously.

the CCC says ok to drink in moderation. I’m drinking in moderation. what’s the problem?

Oh there are quite a few in this thread that have experience with alcoholism in their families. And the subject has been talked about quite a lot on CAF. This thread though is a bit over the top, hence the need for someone to point out the ridiculousness of the OP speaking for everyone and the timing of the joke.

Shaming people isn’t very charitable or Catholic either, by the way.

Why do you pity me? I live a good Catholic moral life and still manage to be happy. If others can’t do the same, the pity is for them, not me.

Abeg, Is it so hard to understand what i write?

I said, the problem is alchoholism and that should not be taken lightly and surely it is nothing to joke about.

There is no problem in moderate drinking, i never said that.
