Why convert to Catholicism from Protestantism?

What do you think would be the reasons that a Protestant (Reform or Arminian) might find convincing enough to prompt a conversion to Catholicism?

Yes. A Reformed person loves God and trusts God, but, may be uncomfortable with/terrified of that God predestines people to hell. If one can fully think this out, this may lead to Catholicism.

I, a life long evangelical upon my retirement became curious about when certain things I has been tought found their beginnings after the Book of Acts had been written. I had no history of the church before the reformation. I also had no intention of ever becoming Catholic! So it was history, the church fathers and the Eucharist that convinced me. It actually took be over two years of investigating the church before I knew that I had to become catholic. It was Ignatious of Antioc that was largly responsible. Knowing that he learned from the Apostle John himself. Reading about the Euchrist. After that it was RCIA and I could not wait to recieve my Lord in Communion. A Catholic now for three years I still look forward to recieveing him each week at the Holy Mass.

As I mentioned above, I was a ‘Landmark’ Baptist - the brand that thinks they go back to the Apostles and think they’re not Protestant because they were never part of the Catholic Church to break away from her. All I knew about the Reformation was that the ‘Baptists’ allegedly had been persecuted by the Catholics for 1200+ years before the Reformation. Didn’t know exactly what that was, but I insisted I was not a Protestant because of it.

I also had no intention of ever becoming Catholic!

Neither did I. I remember an email I sent my husband concerning sacramentalism - I actually said “Now, I’m not about to become Catholic, but…” and I sent him a snippet from one of the articles from the Library here that made so much sense, and was so clear in Scripture once one has their blinders off. I gave the quick and dirty version of my conversion story above, and failed to mention that I spent over a year two-timing, so to speak. I would get up early and go to the 8:00 Lutheran service then come home and go with the family to 10:00 Sunday School and 11:00 service with the Baptists. The more liturgical, sacramental and Catholic I became, the harder it was to attend the Baptist church, especially Sunday School with the ex-Catholics.

Yep, that’s about how it was for me, too.
