Why correct Intelligent Design?

If we are all a product of intelligent design, then even babies born with diseases or conjoined twins, or other birth defects are also a product of “INTELLIGENT” Design.
If that is the case, why do petty human doctors try to correct that design? Why don’t we let let babies suffer with these congenital diseases, since GOD might have intended some higher purpose that we do not know. Isn’t trying to treat birth defects, perfecting GOD’s Intelligent Design? Does that then mean that God is not perfect? God is fallible? God made a mistake while creating a baby? HE needs humans to correct HIM???

You’re forgetting the doctrine of Original Sin:

Baltimore Catechism:

Q. 253. What befell Adam and Eve on account of their sin?

A. Adam and Eve, on account of their sin, lost innocence and holiness, and were doomed to sickness and death.

Q. 259. What other effects followed from the sin of our first parents?

A. Our nature was corrupted by the sin of our first parents, which darkened our understanding, weakened our will, and left in us a strong inclination to evil.

Q. 260. What do we mean by “our nature was corrupted”?

A. When we say “our nature was corrupted” we mean that our whole being, body and soul, was injured in all its parts and powers.

Catechism of the Catholic Church:

**404 **…By yielding to the tempter, Adam and Eve committed a personal sin, but this sin affected the human nature that they would then transmit in a fallen state…

**405 **Although it is proper to each individual, original sin does not have the character of a personal fault in any of Adam’s descendants. It is a deprivation of original holiness and justice, but human nature has not been totally corrupted: it is wounded in the natural powers proper to it, subject to ignorance, suffering and the dominion of death, and inclined to sin - an inclination to evil that is called concupiscence". Baptism, by imparting the life of Christ’s grace, erases original sin and turns a man back towards God, but the consequences for nature, weakened and inclined to evil, persist in man and summon him to spiritual battle.

The “design” was originally perfect but human sin tainted the design and introduced suffering and death. When humanity attempts to correct these problems through science, humanity is cooperating with God in overcoming the effects of sin. Through Jesus Christ God helps us overcome the spiritual effects of sin. But humanity was not created to be a simple recipient of God’s gifts but a true co-worker of God in the world. It would be an abrogation of our vocation as human beings to not play a role in building the Kingdom of God in the world.
