Why couldn't the first state of the universe just exist?

My ears are not deaf. Not all of us are meant to study metaphysics, but all of us should be able to understand through reason alone that God exists.

I meant no offense. I apologize if I sounded arrogant, impatient, condescending, or anything of the sort. I was refering more towards those people who casually dismiss metaphysics, not people, such as yourself, who honestly search for truth and try to understand the positions, both the one you hold and the one you are arguing against. I too often have encounters with people of the former, and too seldom do I encounter people of the latter.
