Maybe if dinosaurs had some intellect and will, they wouldn’t have got themselves extinct.
:rotfl:

I know! 😃

If they’d only developed the technology to stave off volcanoes, earthquakes, tsunamis and Chicxulub, they’d have it made!

Go ahead and laugh. Our fragile beings will be even less of a match for the next planet-busting rock.

Our bodies may not be a match but I’m willing to bet (not much of a choice) that our technology will be adequate.

Seeing how the USA just threw away its space program, I wish I could share your optimism.

Yes – humans will be no match for a similar asteroid when it hits earth, and it statistically it will happen again. The only hope is for us to anticipate the impact (as in 2029 or 2036) and attempt to deflect it.

The Pope is wrong.

More evidence that many people do not understand evolution. Evolution is the process of increasing complexity after life already exists. It doesn’t answer the origin question. Scientists still working on that.
Looking at animal and plant life, right now, and for that mater, since recorded history, not one step of the evolutionary process has been recorded, not one step from a lesser complexity to a higher complexity has been observed. This field of science lacks the famous “smoking gun” like no other.

What’s so difficult to understand about “e” if its just words? So far what we have about “e” is a set of statements and accepted principles. Nothing more. Just words, words, words and more words. No facts. It reminds me of what the Minister of Propaganda of the Nazi regime said: “if you repeat a lie [words] over and over again it will become truth” (or words to that effect).

On this issue I’m like St. Thomas: I’ll believe until I see it. The good thing about St. Thomas is that Jesus, as opposed to “e”, appeared to him a few days later. I’ve been told I have to wait “thousands, even millions” of years to see “e” in action.

I imagine this scene in a film set, with the director saying: “lights, camera, action”… and then I hear the voice of a man saying “watch ‘e in action’ coming to a theater near you in the spring of 358,927 AD!” I can guarantee you that you wont get the pirated DVD version before the official release of “e in action”.

Most of the universe is extremely hostile to life. There could very well be a comet or large asteroid on a collision course with earth. There are teams of scientists tracking NEO’s.

Maybe if dinosaurs had some intellect and will, they wouldn’t have got themselves extinct. Right now they could be in Florida while the poor dogs up north have to make a trip out in the cold to take care of their internal needs…
With all the talk about Global Warming and Climate Change and the harm it will do to us…

Dinosaurs are reptiles, they reproduced by eggs. We know by seeing some living reptiles (crocodiles and turtles) that the sex of their offspring is set by the temperature surrounding the egg. In crocs, warmer temperature produces males and cooler produces females, and the opposite happens with turtles. What impact could have a glacial age or global warming on the dinos if the sex of their offspring was set by temperature? Either way, one sex would be more prevalent than the other causing no offspring in the process. This could have been what happened. I’m not saying that’s what happened, but you see, there are many explanations around the extinction of the dinos, and this is one more we have to think about.

The dinosaurs existed for 90 million years before man showed up. What did the dinosaurs do? They ate grass. God watched them eat grass for 90 million years. God loves more than we can imagine. Therefore, God created dinosaurs to watch them eat grass. Also, have a piece of cake.

I know 😦

Are you sure they can’t spare a little bit of their military?

lol. This is funny. Science lives off evidence. There’s no evidence for an entire field of science. Yes. You are right. Refer to the couple of suggestions below.

I refer you to the chapter “Before Our Very Eyes”, in The Greatest Show on Earth. Just duct tape over the author if you don’t like his name.

God created dinosaurs so we can make movies about them for our own enjoyment.

Sir: Whoever thought of this explanation is a genius. It is the simplest and least complicated of all the explanations I have heard. Simplify, simplify, simplify. Alas, no poached dinosaur eggs for breakfast tomorrow.

Oh perhaps this is a warning to all those cultures who prefer males to females. Before they know it they will not be able to reproduce themselves due to lack of sex differentiation. At least they don’t eat their young. Oops! wrong again. That’s the net effect of abortion.

Egg sex temperature can probably adapt to temperature faster than natural temperature changes.

No, this one needn’t be considered. An asteroid impact is all but certain as the cause.

Some at grass, but many ate the flesh of other dinosaurs.

Schn: I was making a deeper point. We as a culture are destroying ourselves by “eating” our children through abortion and contraception. And, the simplest explanation is usually the best or correct answer.

Eggs that develop inside warm bodies should not be affected by climate change. Let’s not turn everything into a morality-driven apocalypse.

For that matter, we don’t know whether dinosaurs were in fact cold-bodied.
