Hi Folks:)
I just wanted to respond to this question.
Why did God create dinosaurs, how can we be sure that dinosaurs really excist?
I mean, When reading the Bible, does it not say that the Earth was a formless wasteland?
But reading on, the humans were like us, they thought and talked with God all the time.
And let me go forward just a bit. Jesus told his deciples to not trust human wisdom and understanding, because it is foolishness to God. I have read the Bible and there is no indication that dinosaurs excisted.** If you can prove to me that they did excist, please let me know. **But I for one, are grateful that they do not excist. There wouldn’t be anyone on Earth!
Thanks
Callime
:bigyikes:

You are telling me that because dinosaurs are not mentioned in the bible, they never existed?

SJ-that leaves a heck of a lot of things that “don’t” exist because they aren’t in the bible like:dishwasher, blood transfusions,TV, electric lights, cell phones, Snapple(I’m drinking a none existent one right now!),electricity, futon bed, computers(which I’m don’t exist but I’m using anyway:rolleyes:). Ah yes, Bible literalism at it’s best!👍

Reading your post made me feel so much better, I think I’ll lift my glass of non existant coke and toss some clothes in my non existant washing machine!

Our entire existence is The Matrix through Plato’s Cave Analogy? If the sleeping giant who’s dreaming us (who doesn’t exist because it’s not mentioned in the Bible), wakes up, how much more wont we exist then?

I do have to apologize for not believing, I did read Job and it did speak of large creatures, but I do have to say that your coke acola and cell phones did not exist until now. Please do not hurt my feeling any more, I feel condemn because I thought I could have my say in this, but evendently I could not, I wonder how Jesus felt when he was condemned? Think about it, you condemned me, I did not know the answer. And I’m sure I am not the only one who feels this way. Why, Because I have not seen these dinosaurs. And maybe they weren’t as bad as people today put them as to be? One would have to go back in time to fine out. Would’nt you like to do that?

Dear Callime,

No one has condemned you. Your methods of determining the existance of something are being questioned. Don’t take offense by this question, but have you ever been to a museum? This isn’t an attack, it is a very serious question.

I have to repeat StrawberryJam’s question too. You can see dinosaurs all the time!
Well what’s left of them anyway. XD Go to a museum or just read a book on dinosaurs, the fossil (preserved bones) evidence of their existence is clear-cut undeniable.

Great, great question. I’ll post my hypothesis shortly, but first a couple points of clarification:
  1. Man and dinosaurs did NOT coexist. Come on, do you really need Jurassic Park to show you why we were separated by nearly 65 million years of evolution? God did not intend to have man and dinosaurs live together, else there would be no man:(
  2. Popular mythology at its best: despite what Sinclair gas stations depict, dinosaurs are NOT responsible for the world’s oil deposits. You can thank plankton for the oil. Oil is formed at the bottom of the ocean floor, not on land. Ever wondered why there isn’t any oil found in association with dinosaur fossils? Same reason you don’t find oil under cemetaries.
My thoughts on the topic? Well, anyone who has seen a dinosaur skeleton in a museum is overwhelmed by the sense of awe and wonder that are brought about by seeing the magnificent beasts. I think God made dinosaurs for two reasons: 1) for man to be able to marvel at God’s creative genius; and 2) to show us that while dinosaurs are truly awesome, He had something (man) better in mind.

God created the Dinosaurs cause He’s cool like that. Plus, i mean, Dinosaurs are awesome:thumbsup:. If you wereGod(big stretch) why would you not make the Dinosuars? Giant prehistoric lizards… What’s not to like?

Anyway though, its really kind pointless to p(name removed by moderator)oint an exact reason in God’s ultimate plan for the dinosuar seeing as God is infinitely more wise than us. It probably couldn’t even be explained in human tongue, rather it would require divine vision. who knows?🤷

Hi everyone! I am fulltime Greek Orthodox and part time astronomer and sciencitist. From my own understanding of science and been a astronomer since I was 6, I will like to put in my 2 cents worth. When Our Lord created the Solar System we know from science that most of the creation came from 1 element hydrogen. Of course God created hydrogen from nothing however He created everything else from it. We know that the major composition of the Sun is hydrogen. Alot of it is turned into helium and the rest into the many chemical elements we find on the Earth. For instance when 2 hydogen atoms come togerther we get helium and when 4 come together we get carbon and so on. Now in the beginning of the Solar System there were many stars probably thousands! We know this by observing other nebulas such as the Eagle Nebula. This Eagle Nebula is a star creating region where new stars are forming right before our eyes. The pillars in this Nebula were nicknamed the pillars of creation by astronomers because we are witnessing the creation of newly formed stars. All these stars are been formed by one element Hydrogen. Now back to our own Solar System. All stars in the beginning are extremely Hot! So hot that there color is bluish white. Every star were burning fast except one. Except for the Sun they all went supernova. From these supernovas came all the elements especially what we find on the Earth. Probably the Sun was formed later so as not to be effected by these exploding stars. In its early life the Sun was Hot. So hot that on Mars the temperatures were good to live on. Mars has an atmoshere and has oxygen as well. Later the oxygen went into the soil and that is why we call Mars the red planet. The oxygen oxidized the soil so it became reddish. This was the result of the sun being cooler. Now back to the beginning again when the Sun was hot God decided to create dinosaurs. He created them big so as to help fertilize the Earth and as one poster mentioned to create oil. Afterwards when the Sun cooled down and now has the yellow color God created Man and mammals and so on. The sun will never go supernova. OK. So rest assure. But all the planets and the moons and the comets, ect… came from those existing stars that went supernova. You can get all the chemical elements from a star so can you imagine what you can get from thousands of them. In fact you can say that we are formed and created from " stardust ". Dinosaurs were necessary to fertilize the Earth and of course the making of fossil fuels. He made them big so as to do a better job. If you want to know more about the connection of science and God and the Solar system I do have alot more, please ask. Since the forum dwelt with only dinosaurs I hope this helps you better understand the way God created them and of course our own Solar System. God Bless!

Puppies couldn’t fetch the balls He threw.

The fact that most of them have ways to easily kill you?😛
Then again, their size and array of weaponry seem to trump modern-day animals in my eyes for some reason. 😛

Do we really need to know why God created the dinosaurs? I mean, is it really necessary for our faith to know why He created the dinosaurs? I don’t think it is. That said, it is still a good question. But it is not something I would base my faith upon.
