It is my understanding that Lucifer and the fallen angels were cast out of heaven and sent to Earth before God created man. Why would God create man on the same planet? What could possibly go wrong?

where does it say they were sent to earth before God created man

How are you sure that Mankind was created on Earth?

Elijah and Enoch are in an earthly paradise awaiting the Antichrist. They’re most certainly not on this planet.

Where Is Heaven? Not a Place? Philosophy
What Fr. Ryland is suggesting flies in the face of credible sources. His opinion doesn’t equal fact. Ecclesiasticus 44:16 (Douay-Rheims) Henoch pleased God, and was translated into paradise, that he may give repentance to the nations. Malachi 4:5 See, I will send the prophet Elijah to you before that great and dreadful day of the LORD comes. St. Irenaeus, Adversus Haereses, Liber 4, Cap. 30 The disciples of the Apostles say that they (Enoch and Elijah) whose living bodies were taken up fro…

That is not correct. Angels are pure spirit, they do not have material bodies and were not sent “to earth”.

Revelation 12:7-17 King James Version (KJV)

7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

You can’t project our understanding of astronomy onto this first century work. They were not cast down to Earth, as if it’s the only planet in the universe they have access to. They are denied the beatific vision of Heaven.

Revelation is symbolic, apocalyptic literature and must be read as such.

That makes sense. I have long thought that “things unseen” including the spiritual realm are in what science would call a parallel universe. That would answer lots of questions. God and heaven could be very close to us, just not in a direction that we can perceive with our senses.

Surprisingly, the original question came into my mind soon after a holy hour with the Blessed Sacrament. Probably not from God. Deliver us from evil.
