Why did God create the different races?

God seems to like variety. For example, n the animal kingdom he created all kinds of birds such as the owl, the sparrow, and the dove. They’re all birds but they’re different.

For instance, tightly-curled hair such as is common in Africa gives a head covering that both protects from the sun and yet allows sweat to evaporate, an advantage for people who hunt in the heat of the day when the lions and other big predators aren’t inclined to move around much. A different kind of hair might make it easier for someone to withstand hunting or foraging in a very cold climate.
Thanks for sharing this information because it proves that racial differences are the result of evolution. As someone else has written, Adam and Eve must have had the genetic ability to adapt and evolve over time.

Sure, why not? The ideas came from the work Gregor Mendel, an Austrian monk, who did expriments in selective breeding for over 30 years. He is the one who came up with the concept of dominant and recessive traits, for instance. Farmers had known roughly about inheritance for a long time before he did his work, but his careful work lead to the rules that were later recognized as seminal findings. (Unfortunately, his contemporaries did not see the implications of his work; he had to be “rediscovered” long after his death).

Yes, the “father of modern genetics” was not only a Catholic but the abbot of a monastery. (I have read that his fellow monks were much more amenable to his work with peas than they were to his work with bees, LOL.)

The Church is stronger because as the Church is appropriated by each culture, the culture also illuminates new aspects of God the Church was missing. Through that reciprocity, the culture becomes stronger and so does the Church.

I don’t understand how a variety of ethnic groups makes us stronger. If anything, it makes us weaker because it divides us along superficial lines.
That is only if we react by being tribal or provincial instead of choosing to respond in a way that is truly catholic.

Yes, this is lovely. ❤️

The Jews are a people, not a race. I don’t think the idea of race even existed in OT times.

No, He allowed people in different places to develop along genetic lines. So what? Who are we to say, all people will be divided by the genetic factor of skin color?

We are the ones who came up with the idea of dividing people by a small number of visible characteristics which make no difference at all.

There is only one race. The human race - scientific fact. It is humans that try to seperate people different from them, into another race

This also strongly supports the biblical origins of us, also backed up with n the genetic study that spawned the book. The seven daughters of Eve.

The human race - scientific fact.
It is also a scientific fact that humans have several different skin colours and other genetic features. The reality of biological, genetic variety across the human population cannot be denied. Races exist.

They are not racial differences. Because there is only one race.

Look at it this way, people in Norway lived in a country where their skin need to absorb as much vitamin D as possible, from the sun. Hence very fair skin. In the south Pavific there is an abundance of strong sun, so islanders developed much darker skin. Helped stop burning.

Yes , that does not = different race.

You are misunderstanding the definition of race and applying the incorrect definition to it

The differences exist, but the classification into “races” is something humans have done, often for reasons of the tribalism and division you mention. For example, who counts as “white” has changed over time, with the line being one of social acceptability rather than genetic reality.

Race is more about physical features and ethnicity has to do with culture (language, religion, customs, etc).
An example are Welsh and English are ethnicities but both are racially Caucasian. In Rwanda, they are African racially but there are Hutu and Tutsi ethnicities.

You are misunderstanding the definition of race. Look it up in the dictionary.
You are going to tackle the entire scientific community and tell, it’s got its theory wrong?

GOLD!
