Why did God create the world?

In Jewish mysticism, God created the world because God wanted to behold God. I believe we’re being used in this world to accomplish an unseen goal. I do believe we’ve been duped. One thing I feel certain, the world is not what it seems.
Beauty in the world could reflect a small or large part of what Human creatures seek to know in God Who Is Beauty and perfect Love.

Hope this helps
God bless You
Merry Christmas and happy new year

Thanks for posting Church teachings on this Lancer. Yesterday’s Gospel came to mind.
Mary and Joseph searching for Jesus and finding Him in the Temple (but searching 3 days elsewhere first!).

Does the Church say anything about this? < Might be the best question one in our seeking and finding our answers or insights.

What did Jesus say (about this)? Is another. Often the greatest human questions are taken up by Christ or taught somewhere in the Bible via God’s revelation to man.
i second this.

Merry Christmas
God bless

First, before I expound, let me preface it by saying that trying to understand the mind of God is dangerous subject matter. The Church as much as tells us so, But, it’s impossible not to ponder “what if” scenarios…

Maybe for fun. Maybe Jesus talked him into it. Maybe 15-20 billion years ago Jesus and some of the higher orders of Angels developed an elaborate scheme and sold it to God. Maybe God resisted but ultimately relented. Maybe for love. What is love but surrender, sacrifice, risk… Maybe he’s sitting back and saying “I told you so”. Maybe Jesus is saying, “so… so what… wait… just a little longer… I got this… trust Me”.

I’m sure we haven’t been duped. That’s awfully cynical given the little evidence to go on. Don’t be a negatron, we have enough of those, be a positron. Just one sunrise or a good long stare at the moon should convince you of that. What else would you be doing if God hadn’t created the world… The world seems like a pretty great place to me but we are limited to our perceptions and capacities… I’m sure it’s much greater than it seems… to me…

Tune In to the Holy Spirit
Turn On to Jesus Christ
Drop Out of the culture of death…
