Everybody suffers. Its a part of living which no one can excape. When Adam and Eve sinned suffering came into the world.I suppose.I don’t believe Adam could have suffered any before he sinned. So since we can suffer that must be part of the man’s punishment. But we must be able to get something out of it.There has got to be a positive effect otherwise its pointless.

GOD did not give us suffering, we brought it upon ourselves through sin. GOD did not make us for pain, but to experience the joy of HIM in heaven.

The positive effect of Adam’s sin was the birth and death of GOD’s only SON, JESUS, WHO was the second Adam, and Mary HIS mother who was the second Eve.

Suffering in and of itself IS pointless. Suffering combined with God’s grace becomes of infinite worth… We unite our sufferings to those of Christ, and by our love through suffering, we help bring down graces to other people. I have gone through a lot in my life already, and I have found that at no other time do I feel I have the greatest gift of love I can give God than when I choose to love Him in the midst of my suffering.

So, suffering brings us closer to Christ, and it also brings graces to other people when united to Christ’s sufferings.

yes,but I was asking why He gave us a body that could suffer.I know suffering came into this world because of Adam’s sin.

Just thinking out loud but, could it be so that we fully understand and comprehend the Sacrifice and Passion? Any suffering our bodies may undergo is but nothing compared to what Christ endured. Through our own bodily suffering we can better participate in and appreciate the suffering of Our Lord. Or as He likes to call it, bearing our own cross.

Just a thought.
