Because God did not need to create us, the twentieth-century lay Catholic apologist Frank Sheed said that God made us because we would like it. And, as all creation exists, in part, to give God glory, in a sense we were created to glorify God. That glory does not add to his perfection, but it does serve to demonstrate his love.
