I have heard it said that G-d offered the Law to other cultures FIRST and to the Jews LAST.
But is it written anywhere in Indian history or in hinduism or in Chinese history that God offered the Law to them? This would be such an earth shattering moment, I don’t see why it would not have been recorded somewhere? And why would not God want to choose a people that has a delicious cuisine?
BTW, aren’t the hindu scriptures considered to be older in composition than the Jewish scriptures?

And he spoke thus to the people: Thus says the Lord the God of Israel: Your fathers dwelt of old on the other side of the river, Terah the father of Abraham and Nachor: and they served strange gods. Joshua 24:2

They is plural so it could include Abraham.
I wasn’t exerting a point anyways.

I thought Abraham did worship other gods.
Abraham spoke to the Canaanite diety El Shaddai (God the the Mountain), who was the head of the Canaanite pantheon of gods. It’s theorized that the Jews consolidated El and YHWY during the exile following the first temple destruction due to an aversion to worshiping Marduk, the head of the Babylonian gods. This consolidation served as a binding force among the diaspora.

To me, revelation is the greatest mystery - why God chooses to reveal certain information to whom and when. God is under no obligation to make sense to any us. “She was a fool, and so am I, and so is anyone who thinks he sees what God is Doing [writes Bokonon].”

As I understand it, Abraham came from some polytheistic or nature-god culture where they worshipped all kinds of crazy stuff. Obviously he was brought up in that culture so as a child and young person, maybe he didn’t know any better and just accepted what his daddy taught him. But at some point when he reached maturity he probably began to think and question and then had revelation from the true, one and only God.
