Why did He reveal Himself to the

Was it necessary for Christ to reveal himself to the scribes and pharasees ? These were the same men who time after time looked for any reason possible to arrest Him or have Him stoned for spreading True Love and Peace. Christ did not just walk out in public and announce who He is, He allowed His teachings and works subtly lead people to ask and figure it out on their own.

Though the Scribes,Pharasees,Elders, ( what ever the proper title is ) at every chance seem to have worked against Christ; so it would appear there would be no real reason to point out who He is to them perse as they were already close minded to the very easy methods He went to reveal Himself. Was there even a real remote chance that these officials at this point in time would have really acknowledged Christ as the Son of God and thus there would have been no crucifixtion and history would have gone a different route ?

Or was it just obvious that in order for Christ to be able to save humanity and bring us back to God to save us, He had to push these officials to their breaking point which was nothing less than telling the truth about who He really is, which was the last thing they appeared to want to hear and probably were waiting for Him to declare so they could finally have a real reason to kill Christ. Because the Son of God was not whom they expected so ipsofacto He has to die in their eyes. I would find it hard to believe that the Scribes/Pharasees/ Elders, actually believed He is the Son of God and still decided to put Him to death due to either, their fear, jealously, what ever.

Granted they had free will, and had to choose either way, but knowing good and well that proclaiming yourself in that day in age to be the Son of God is an instant death sentence I do not think many people in that time frame were stepping up to say just that, so perhaps one might take a step back an think . Even Pilate new better but still caved into pressure to get the ordeal off his hands. Yet the ones screaming and demanding His death could not accept the Truth. Or is it simply that He had to choose wether or not He was going to accept the path the Father put Him on, it was His time and His Life had to end in only one way that would save us and thus it did not matter how or when He finally revealed Himself to those who would send Him to death. ?

Finally I apologize if this has already been posed i tried searching but could not find any links. I think Nicodemous was a leader of sorts so was he one of the few to actually believe in Christ even though in secret, and even after the Resurrection they still put Peter an others on trial for teaching in His name… so … ?

Why would you?

Nicodemus was a Pharisee.

Jesus perceived Himself a faithful Jew, and initially He sought to reform Judaism. He addressed much of what He said to the Pharisees and the Scribes because they sat in the chair of Moses and taught in his name. They were the legitimate authority from God, and Jesus would have exalted them, had they found the grace to humble themselves, but they did not. “Therefore,” Jesus said, “the Kingdom shall be taken away from you and given to a nation that will bear its fruit.”

The Pharisees knew Jesus was from God. They killed Him anyway, because of their own attachment to power. They actually thought they could stop God.

God, for His part, always justifies Himself, and He justified His condemnation of the Phrisees and Scribes by teaching them much. Remember that these were the same men who were so amazed at Him only eighteen years ago. They knew there was something special about That Child. They surely recognized Him when He began to preach. It does not seem that they could have had any excuse based on ignorance. Thereby did God convict them, while they for their part murdered Him.

The Pharisees knew Jesus was from God. They killed Him anyway, because of their own attachment to power. They actually thought they could stop God.

If any of that is true it is utterly insane, and perhaps i am not thinking in terms of how Christ has true love for everyone, so granted He had to know they were not going to accept Him, that alone would not have stopped Him from trying to reach them, and that He convinced at least Nicodemus says a lot right there, no telling who else in secret believed. So I think in a way your response lead to some extra thinking on my end, wether or not they would have put Him to death was not going to stop Christ from proclaiming who He is.
