Strange question for a woman waiting for her husband to fulfill the second part of marriage by taking her into his home. If normal, Mary would have naturally assumed the angel was referring to a child between her and her husband. You have not explained why she would have an unnatural response.

I find that wording…confused…describing Mary as projecting one’s emotive perception…not objective and scholarly…

Went to www.bible-researcher.com/nlt.html and also read the differences of Matthew 7:21-23…this bible using ‘heart language’…assembled by 99 evangelical Christians…New Living Translation 1996.

It is missing the true intent of the Holy Spirit…

One thing we are not to do is to treat things of God commonly…and it is not good to treat the Mother of God or the Word of God commonly.

Rev. Kev. In Jewish custom an engagement like that was considered EQUVALENT to marriage, even though the couple did not live together until after the marriage ceremony, it still took a legal divorce to BREAK the engagement.

The farther out we go away from the tradition of faith, the more difficult it is to come to the same perception of faith history.

I think there are many more formal divisions in American Christianity than in Judaism in disputes of intent in Scrpture. It is best to return to those that are keeping the original thought. I look forward to the coming unity of Latin and Orthodox Christians and see this restoration of unity becoming a great help in guiding other Christians in understanding the Word of God.
