Why did so many people admire Christopher Hitchens?

he was a difficult man to like if you didn’t agree with his views. As I often didn’t.
I’m surprised Freddy Krueger. Imagined that you would be a big Fan. Can you tell me what things you didn’t agree with?

I watched Hitchens debates with Frank Turek and William Lane Craig. He seemed to me arrogant and hard headed. The reason I say that is because he would repeat points over and over again rather than countering what his opponents said. Sometimes he would completely ignore points and rant on and on about something else. He was always willing to play offense and would refuse to be on the defensive. Just my general impression of him.

Oh, I was a big fan. Just that we didn’t see eye to eye on some things. His views of the Clinton presidency for one. And yes, he always played offence. And was then quite often seen as being offensive.

Let’s just say that I would prefer him on my side rather than him batting for the opposition.

He was a contrarian in a world often marked by hiveminds; a singular thinker even if one disagreed with him. I’d love to see what he had to say about gender nonsense and masks these days.

I would like to know his views on what is termed political correctness these days. But I’m not sure he’d have a political view on masks. It would be like asking what he thought about following medical advice. Why on earth wouldn’t you? Do you think he’d have a personal view on the treatment he was getting for his cancer?
