Why did the angels only get one chance when we get so many chances?

The angels have a much higher intelligence than we humans have, and so they could see at a glance what the outcome would be of their proud rebellion, but they chose it anyway.

The Good Lord gives us all the moments of our life to use our free will to turn to Him in repentance and appreciation for all He did for us. If they freely to choose to turn away, God honors their choice.

If you think about it, in the grand scheme of things, we do only have one chance–one life. We have one, grand, long chance, lasting however many years God wills to put us on earth. In that life we should be ever striving to choose Him, so that when we reach the hour of our death, the choice will be a natural one. Virtue, after all, is a habit, and when we embrace the theological virtues of faith, hope, and charity over and over, each time we are given opportunity to, at the hour of our death, we shall die in the friendship of God.

Very beautiful answer. 👍

Not sure as to why you’re asking this question in the philosophy forum…

I didn’t know what other forum to put it in. What forum should it be in?

To any mods, feel free to move it to the correct forum, if this is the wrong one.

I know the angels are much more intelligent, but can’t we humans know what will happen if we continually reject God, even if we don’t know as fully as they do?:confused::confused:

The angels are a different species, and they chose the sin of pride, of wanting to be like God.

Us humans do not fully understand the deep things of God, but we don’t have to bother our heads in wondering about things that our loving God does. He is infinitely fair and just, we can trust in that.

And why can’t people be sorry and repent after death?:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:
We humans are 1 specie. Every human being is shoulder to shoulder with another human being.
Every angel is a specie in Himself. In their realm there is no angel equal to another angel. One angel is one top of another, the difference between an ant to a whale, is not as great as between 2 angels.!!!
Each angel communicates to another as one greater in intelligence to himself or lower in intelligence to himself. There is no angel shoulder to shoulder with another. Each angel is ONE OF HIS KIND IN HIS LEVEL OF BEING. THEY ARE LITERALLY GODS IN THEIR REALM.!!!
In their intelligence, they DO NOT MAKE INCORRECT CONCLUSIONS. THEY JUST MADE AN INCORRECT DECISION.
We, human however, are different. Most of us, at many a time do not have all the knowledge possible to make a correct and informed decision.(angels have this capacity, that is why they cannot repent). We can change our minds, in the light of greater and informed knowledge. Angels have it all at once from God their capacity to know, to make the right decision at their point of testing before admittance into Heaven. Some choose not to serve and went the way they are suppose to.
Why cant we repent after death?. This is the revelation of God. That at death, there is no turning back on our decision to Love God above all things and to love our neighbour as ourselves. After death, Judgement on how we fair, and always God is Infinite Justice and Mercy. That is why we “work out our salvation in fear and trembling”. This would mean we do not become presumptuous, but do all within our power to know and love God and neighbour…
We do well to perform acts of mercy, in prayer and deed, in preparation for our death to forestall the judgement of God. “Blessed are those who are merciful they shall be shown mercy.” And of course, to strive always to be in the state of preparation, in the “state of grace”, for we know not the hour of his coming"( for that matter, of we going to him in death).

God bless

I think you just answered your own question about why we can’t repent after death. Letme try to answer your question with an illustration. I have a puppy that keeps peeing on my floor, but I keep trying to train him because he’s dumb. If my 18-year-old daughter pees on my floor she’s going to get the boot pretty quick.
